Christopher Pike books are what got me reading. I remember my friend in 5th grade read me one, i was a slow reader and not very good. She read me part of a book one night and i really liked it. I think i read a good amount of his stuff between 5th and 8th grade.
Another book ive read multiple times is Still Life with Woodpecker by
Tom Robbins. I read it the first time in highschool for a book report, and have read it a few times since.

    To Kill a Mockingbird
Midwives (Chris Bohjalian) -- probably one of the best books I've read in my adult life.
    The Red Tent
    The Thirteenth Tale
    Wait Till Helen Comes
    Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
I LOVED Midwives, Red Tent, and The Thirteenth Tale! In fact, I just pulled out The Thirteenth Tale to re-read it once I finish Pride & Prejudice (again - its my all time favorite, read it countless times).
There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. Wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic. ~ The Thirteenth Tale

oohhh The Red Tent was amazing! Did you read The Birth House by Ami McKay? It's another excellent book I LOVED it. I've not read Midwives is that the one that's on Oprah's reading list? I've not read The Thirteent Tale either will have to look into it. ANYTHING Austen is a favorite of mine. Another book I've read over & over & over is Little Women.

Midwives was on Oprah's list. It was one of her first picks that I read, and it kept me up a couple of nights quite late because I couldn't put it down. Bohjalian is now one of my fave authors, though none of his other stuff has been quite as good as Midwives, IMO.

The Birth House was good, I enjoyed it. The Thirteenth Tale was another that I had a difficult time putting down. I really loved it, though it did take me about 50 pages to really get into it.

Other than Twilight, I've reread (and could continue to read over and over again) The Host, The Outlander Series, Harry Potter, and The Shack.

Hi i just joined... right now I'd have to say my only obsession is Twilight. My previous obsession was Harry Potter...but it was definitly NOT as bad as with Twilight. That's it though! No other books have caught my attention yet. But I hope so soon because I'm having Twilight withdrawls since I just finished the 4th book yesterday ... lol I use to LOVE anything written by VC Andrews. I still do but haven't really read any of those for awhile.

    Glad you stopped by!!

I'm beginning to wonder what the series is laced with, because I am so obsessed, even my school librarian said so today. Maybe there is some kind of subliminal message in the covers, or text, or on the audio. I need the books like I need my daily caffeine.

No kidding! I just read the entire saga AGAIN. I have no idea how many times I've read it and I still keep picking it up to read certain passages.
