    Default Summer Reading!

What are your summer reading plans? Any specific types of books you like to take to the pool, beach, vacation, or read on a warm summer night? Any books you are anxiously awaiting that have a summer release?

Lol, should have read this thread first, since I posted about one of my favourite 'summer-read' authors, Sarah Addison Allen, on the other thread. I like lighter books for summer reading.

I highly recommend "Godmother, the Secret Cinderella Story" for a summer book.

I really don't have any specific books on the Summer TBR pile. Just plan to read as many books and as much as possible.

As a general rule of thumb I don't like anything very heavy. I tried to read The Road while on vacation a few years back, and I just couldn't. It was way too depressing!

I'll have to look that one up, Stephanie!

Oh ya, The Road. I haven't read it yet, but I don't think I will any time soon. From speaking with those who have read it, it just sounds way too bleak!!

I never did finish it, even after vacation. I also never watched the movie.

I think you'd also enjoy my current book as a summer read - - The Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness.

I have to pick that one up from my library. I already placed it on my list, but it was out when I last went. I probably need to get on the waiting list for it.

Yeah, you probably should get on the waiting list. I had to wait over a month for it on our library's waiting list. It's still only out in hardcover, so still pretty new. But an enjoyable read! Place it on the list now and you should get it in time for some nice summer reading.
