As far as the cast, I'm not super sure about Edward yet. I like the actor and all, but not sure he quite fits my idea (or the books for that matter) of Edward. I think the guy she originally had on her site was a much better choice. I wonder if she still has that up? I doubt it, and I don't remember his name now. All the others seem to be cast pretty well, especially Alice and Jasper

Ok, it's in the archives

Henry Cavill, now that is my idea of Edward. I don't care that he's 24/25, I think he could have pulled off the role just fine.

I completely agree with you! But it will be interesting to see how it turns out. I can't wait!

Saw the trailer (same one that is on myspace) tonight before Sex & the City. So cool to see it on the big screen, I can't wait!

Sex and The City was really good too. I'm used to seeing the edited ones on tv, and this was definitely more "HBO", but really great movie.

Did you see that they are making My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult into a movie? I am excited about that one! I think LMN is doing it... not sure though.

Saw some Twilight movie news on Entertainment Tonight (ET), I jumped off my couch and rushed toward my tv so I could hear it, since dh was on the phone and baby was crying. ROFL Thinking I may be a tad obsessed!

Anyone else a little thrown by the casting choice for Laurent, I just totally pictured him differently. Lol

I guess from the description in the book I had different thoughts on what he might look like.

As you can probably tell, I'm catching up on Stephanie's site tonight to get my "fix." Lol

Thought this article, from Entertainment Weekly, was great! It especially helped alleviate some of my concerns about the movie being a big departure from the book.

If you go to the movie site

http://www.twilightthemovie.com/

and click on the image gallery link, it looks like one of the first pics is a pic of James, Laurent, and Victoria -- when they interrupt the ball game. (which BTW, I thought was at night)

If you still can't see it, I'll try to copy it, and post it.

Oh, I never said he wasn't hot. Wink

Just that I had pictured him differently based on the book description. I even had to go back and look at it to make sure. Lol

Glad to have you on board Diane. It sure is a fun series. How are you feeling?

I'm a little late too, but I needed someone to understand my obsession, and I think you ladies might! Wink

My sister is a 9th grade English teacher. She had been trying to get me to read Twilight for about a year. I FINALLY picked it up and read it in one day. I couldn't put it down! I finished New Moon & Eclipse by the end of the same week! I am sooooo stinking ready for Breaking Dawn. Our local Books-A-Million is having a party from 10pm-12am. We are going!!!! I bought my vouchers for the books and I am thrilled! Just saw the trailer. I am going to rent Penelope just to see the preview again! My computer kept screwing up, so it didn't work too well.

The preview before Penelope is a bit different than the trailer I've seen online and before S&C (which is the same trailer). This one had a bit of behind the scenes stuff, and Stephenie and Catherine Hardwicke, both briefly talked about it, as well as showing a scene, that I hadn't already seen.

:wavehello: Glad to have you join us Sadie! Cindy told me about the series, and I have managed to drag quite a few others (family and friends) into the obsession since.

I am glad I found you ladies b/c my DH just doesn't understand my excitement. He rolled his eyes when I told him I was waiting until midnight to get my copy. Lol We were in a hurry after church, so I wasn't able to pick up that movie....maybe later.

i'm jumping on the "Better late than never" bandwagon... i ordered Twilight and New Moon on Amazon last week and finally got around to reading them over the weekend... i couldn't put them down... all i wanted to do was read. And since i didn't want to buy a hardback version of Eclipse (which i just might have to do) i'm now obsessing over the movie. I think that Robert Pattinson is growing on me... i'm in the "he is totally hot" phase...

Go ahead and pick up the hardcover -- it's worth it. Wink

I got mine at Walmart for a really good price -- I want to say under $15 bucks, which I thought was awesome for hardback!

i signed up for a free month trial of amazon prime and get free shipping (for the low nominal fee of $70/year) but that is EVERYTHING that you order from amazon...

anyways, i think on Amazon the price was about $10 or $11....

Well then, since you have free shipping, and that's a great price, you should go ahead and treat yourself. ROFL

Oh, and while you are at it, you might also pick up The Host. Why not be extra generous with your treat to yourself?!? Lol

But don't go into the Host with expectations of it being the TW series. It is a great book - but different all together. Wink

i caved and pre-ordered Breaking Dawn. It says that it won't be here until August 6th, but that is ok with me... that falls on my day off - so i will be home and able to rip into it as soon as it gets here!!

I know its on the truck and out for delivery (thank you Amazon for having package tracking...). And i live REALLY REALLY close to the UPS plant.... so why isn't it here yet!?!?

You're probably done by now!!

I tell you I'm beginning to feel like a dealer or something ROFL My cousin called me this am, and she started and finished Twilight yesterday. She wanted spoilers, and I told her no way, she'd have to read the rest of the series to find out. She's not even going to bother waiting to get my copy of New Moon (yep, theres a short waiting line for it), she's going out to buy it today. Lol Other friend just finished it yesterday, and will be getting my New Moon later this week, when mom brings it back.

I want to get them on audio, so I can revamp again, and knit at the same time!! I have a hard time finding time for reading and knitting, and have a blanket I want to finish!

i finished it... on Saturday morning... after reading like mad before i went to work, after i got home from work (at 2am) and in the morning when i woke up at 7:30... can we say "obsessive"!?!?! Biggrin lol

*sigh* if i wasn't getting such a good deal with Amazon i would so be going out to a book party on the 2nd... but nope, i'm going to wait very unpatiently till i get it on the 6th. that could be a very bad thing. i might go nuts.

That was me too. Obsessive! Lol Still am I guess b/c I've been dreaming about Edward....seriously!

I have a question for all you Twilight fans- about the movie-

What part are you looking forward to seeing in the movie the most?

Mine would have to be the meadow scene. I can't wait to see how they display it. It'll be so interesting. I truly hope it's in there.

I'm just excited for the whole thing!!!!! The meadow scene should be really great though!

I swear, Breaking Dawn better hurry up and come out. I was just a regular 'ol fan, until recently and now I swear I'm past fan, and have moved on to obsessed. I seriously have been able to think about little else.

lol...i can't agree with you more on that... everyday i've been on Stephenie Meyer's website, on IMDB to see if there is anything new about the movie... EW.com to see if there is still anything new from comic con that i didn't see.... i've decided that Robert Pattinson is really really really hot too.

as for the movie... it looks like they've combined some of the key Edward/Bella scenes and moved things around a little... which is ok, but it just seems a little wierd right now because i've managed to create such specific mental images.

I was going to buy a 2009 calendar with the movie characters on it but decided against it because I am afraid I might get disappointed in the movie. I have my mind set on what the events are like that I can't imagine them doing justice to the books. I guess we will just see.

I don't hold out any hope that it can compare to the greatness of the book. However, on the whole, it seems that it will be a pretty fair representation.

if you have E! on last nights daily 10 they did a spot on Twilight (the movie)... good interview with Cam Ganette (James) and a bit with Robert from Comic Con... if you can catch a replay at some point today before the new show airs tonight.... Biggrin
