I can't remember the name of it, but I know it was about a tug boat or something similar. I can see it in my head, but can't remember anything about the story lol.
I also clearly remember my mom reading Charlotte's Web to me at night when I was in first grade.

AHH YES! Charlotte's Web was my first.. and nearest and dearest to my heart!!!! I read that book at least 12 times!!!!
umm.. younger though, i remember Amelia Bedilia and all Garfield Comic books. in fact, My Mom gave them to me when I was in Cali recently, and I have them at my Dads now (since they were his, originally.)
Babysitters Club!!! OH how I loved that series!
I was always so jealous of my friends who had the babysitters club books. I only had one. I also loved the sweet valley books, but only had a few of those too. I think i make up for my pitiful lack of young adult books back then by reading mostly that now LOL

My sister got into the sweet valley books 4 or 5 years ago and we bought her a TON of them from a used store.
I also had some of those garfield comic ones. Those were so cool.

Hmmm...the first one was a loooong time ago, lol. But I remember my Mom reading the Narnia series to me, as well as James and the Giant Peach. I remember reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator to myself in grade 2 or 3 (definitely one of those grades based on the school I was at) on the school bus. I can remember they were hardcover editions but without any book jackets.
OH gosh this brings back memories!
Bridge to Terabithia was one of all time fav's! And I loved the Indian in the Cupboard, even though the thought of tiny things moving on their own still creeps me out HAHAH!!!
There was another book... about a tiny family that made things using buttons. i think it became a cartoon (or was it vise-vera)
Anyone recall this?
oh I love Roald Dahl. I have most of his books and can't wait to start reading them to the kids.
Joee, I don't recall hearing/reading about that book.
