Thread: Why?

Why can't I get into reading The Host by Stephanie Meyer? I loved the Twilight series but I just can't seem to read this book. It's been sitting around for 2 weeks now and I'm on chapter 5. That's strange for me since I can usually finish a book in a matter of days. Why or why can't I just enjoy you book?

I couldnt get into it either. It took me a few times of reading to get thru it. I finally got thru it on audio book. It was really a difficult read, especiall after Twilight

I also had a more difficult time getting into it, and unlike The Twilight Series, I haven't had much of a desire to re-read it. Now contrary to all I just said, I did actually enjoy the book, though it took me about 100 pages to really get into it. I usually don't give any book that much, but I love Meyer's stuff so much that I kept on with it, and it did finally hook me. GL!!

I couldnt do it either. I got about 40 pages and then abandoned it. There are just so many things that I want to read and hate to waste any time with something that does not garb me.

Glad to hear I am not the only one. I gave up on it. I was told to keep reading b/c it was an awesome book, it just took a while.

It was a harder one for me to read because I am not so much into the sci fi. It did have a good ending, but it was not near the caliber of her Twilight series!

Ok, I have to admit that it's growing on me. I'm about 1/2 done with it and I'm enjoying it. I'm glad I didn't give up on it

I finished it at 3:30 am. I really enjoyed it...alot more than I thought I was going to. I actually was unable to put it down once I passed the 100 page mark.

It was about that for me as well. it was just so confusing up to that point, then the story finally started to flow well.
