The RN MADE me try and nurse after he was born and since I didnt have any milk it hurt SOOO bad and he obviously wasnt getting anything and I was BAWLING my eyes out, so she called in an LC and she told the nurse that I couldnt BF because I didnt have any milk at all and the nurse was like "well whatever, she wont have a healthy baby" I felt like the worse mother ever because of that nurse. I didnt feel better until we were home and my dad took Hayden for about 2 hours and took care of him and fed him and all that good stuff so that I could get a little nap. That was the greatest feeling seeing my dad with him grandson for the first time.

My son has been in the 90th percentile in height, weight and head circ, since his 2 week check up and he will be 3 this year. He is a VERY HEALTHY boy !!

I dont understand why ppl say that babies that are formula fed have earaches and arent healthy and get sick all the time. My son was never sick other than the ocasionaly runny nose after being outside and after getting his flu shot. He has NEVER had earaches either, not one. My brother and I wear both BF and we had earaches constantly, my brother even had to have tubes in his ears by the time he was 3 !!

After 8 days of trying to BF with very little results, I went to the Hospital LC. The news that I received was devistating. I am just one of those women who cannot produce enough milk to support a growing, hungry baby. In fact, I can only produce 10ml at a time. I went on the medication hoping that it would increase my supply, and it did... but only to 20ml. The side effects of the meds weren't much fun either... depression, anxiety, etc. I felt like I was spending more time worrying about my milk supply than I should have. Recently, I decided to give up on the medication, and just give my daughter what I have, and suppliment the rest. My first daughter was just fine, and she had formula. So here I am, bottle feeding my baby. I had no idea that some women just can't produce enough milk.

I choose to formula feed because i didnt have the urge to breast feed and when i did think about giving it a try my daughter had to go to the nicu after she was born becuase of my fever they had to give her preventative antibotics. I just wasnt raised around breast feeding and knew i wouldnt want to do it in front of company or in public thats just the way i am plus i wanted dh to be able to feed her.

I kinda wish i felt differently because I know b/f is best for my little one, but I just don't have the smallest little urge to give it shot. In all honestly, I think of my boobs as something sexual and the thought of my child sucking on them just grosses me out. I hope that doesn't offend anyone because I don't think it is gross for others to feed their baby that way, but that is the personal reasons behind why I don't want to.

I remember looking down on a friend of mine for not bf. First off, I was not educated on the matter and secondly I didn't know her story. I know now that there is so much more to bf.
I tried bf my ds. He latched the first time. I was still feeling no pain since the epi was in place. The next day I tried and he just wasn't wanting anything to do with it. The LC suggested pumping. OMG that was the most disgusting thing IMO. I felt like a dairy cow. MOO MOOO is what I said when my dh walked in. To say the least I didn't get much out. The LC was trying to get me into positons to help feed him. OMG I was in too much pain from the 3rd degree lac. BY Midnight my baby was screaming bloody murder. He was so hungry. I had to "provide" for my child no matter what. I started to ff from that point on. My milk never did come in.
With dd I decided to ff from the begining. THis time the milk came in and boy was that ouchie.
Both my children are healthy and happy.
