so anyone has special plans for the long weekend? How are you celebrating our country's 144th bday??
Thursday night we're driving down to my aunt's place in Orillia (she'll be at the cottage though) and going to stay there for the weekend. We'll do Canada Day in Orillia... *FINALLY* my kids will get to see a Canada Day parade! (our city hasn't done one for years, they do a bunch of other stuff but no parade :() and we'll just hang out and do whatever else we find interesting... go see the fireworks, either just at the waterfront or maybe take the fireworks cruise on their cruise boat. Then Saturday we're going to Toronto to watch a Blue Jays game. We'll come home either Sunday afternoon or evening.
Sounds like a great weekend!! Wish I could watch a bball game!!
We have nothing planned really. One of DH's good friend is in town and invited a bunch of people to his parent's cottage on Sat. We will probly go by boat if it's nice out.
We may visit my Mom where she is camping too on Sunday... again if it's nice out.
Friday DH will be building Hunter's new park for the backyard (GIVEN away by some peeps who doesn't want it anymore!!!) YAY!
And we are playing bball on Monday...
So that's about it. We will look at the fireworks from our patio at home DH and I while having a beer while Hunter sleeps!
Probably nothing. I think Colin is going to drive up to Williams Lake on Friday, as they are having a hit-to-pass race at their track.(Like demo derby, but done on an oval track). He would come home on Saturday. Sat. night we are going to the Giggle Dam, it's dinner and an off-color comedy show, they are doing one called "That Dam Canadian Show", so everything will be about Canada and all the stereotypes that go along with us- beer, toques, hockey, etc.
I don't know if I'd take the kids to the local celebrations. I said I wouldn't go with with Colin and the kids, because every year Colin complains about waiting for Sierra to go on the rides, and Sierra complains about having to look at all the other "boring" stuff, and I get mad because I can't stand to listen to them. Drives me up the wall, and makes me want to just leave without them. The upside is the food lol. I KNOW they'll have funnel cakes, and gyros :)
We'll see how the weather is, too. That will definately influence my decision haha.
Friday if its nice we are thinking of going up to wasaga beach for the day, Sat were going to see CARS at the drive in (that and pirates but the kids will be asleep for that one lol) Sunday BBQ
The parade sounds like fun.
Where are you? We went to Orillia Thursday night and stayed there for Friday, with Saturday in Toronto, then back to Orillia for Sunday... and other than about 3 drops of rain on our way down Yonge St to Toronto (we drove straight down it from Barrie to downtown TO LOL) there was no storms... no rain... no thunder... nothing... beautiful weekend all around!
We kept it super simple. Hubby had to work all weekend, so we didn't do any fireworks.
On Friday we had our 2nd Annual Impromptu Sisters' BBQ. Both my sisters and our families enjoyed some grilled dogs and chips and relaxed in the backyard. Other than that, nada! It was really nice.
