Royal Wedding

Anybody getting up before dawn to watch???

I'm heading to my aunt's Thursday evening (2.5 hours away) and we're going to go to one of her friend's to watch it EARLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY Friday a.m. Smile

Dh pretty much is just rolling his eye at me... but it's a good excuse to run away and leave daddy in charge for a weekend since I'm not coming back til Sunday evening Wink

Haha not me. I don't have much interest in celebrities, royal or not. I'll see the "highlights" on the news, but that's about it.

In some ways, I feel sorry for Kate. I know that she knew what she was getting into, but I highly doubt that she got to make very many decisions regarding her wedding. You know, every little girl dreams of her wedding day(although I never did).

Plus I think William just is sooooo not attractive. At all. It's probably good that he is rich and in line for the throne. I'm really not that superficial, but he doesn't do anything for me! Lol!

Well... I'm not huge on celebrities either... but I do like the Royal family generally speaking. I was too young for Diana's wedding but did watch her funeral/listen to the Queen Mother's funeral. I don't envy Kate the stress of this wedding at all! Dh and I eloped... which was a good thing because with my mother and his mother, we very well might've either called it all off or eloped anyway had we planned a *real* wedding... no way I could handle all the prep/chaos/etc of a royal one! Oh and while, no, William isn't drop-dead gorgeous or anything, I do think he is MUCH better looking than his father is!! Lol

One simple acronym: PVR.

There's no way I'm getting up at 3am to start watching the Royal Wedding coverage. (I don't get enough sleep as it is, and I rarely have time to watch anything I want to watch.) I do want to have a glimpse, though, so I'll be zipping through 6 hours of coverage when I have time.

When Diana and Charles were married, I was 13. We videotaped the ceremony and watched it later on. I still have a letter from Buckingham Palace that I received as a reply for sending congratulations to the royal couple. Smile

Alas I don't have a DVR or PVR... I still live in the dark ages of no cellphone/iPhone/iPad/blackberry/etc. Lol

Not so sure if I was staying at home I'd be getting up to watch either... but since I'm going to be away AND kidless... I can sleep in/have a nap later as needed Smile

That is so cool about getting a note from Buckingham Palace! Definitely a keepsake Smile

I have it set to record on the PVR. Thursday night is DH's grad party and I may still be up to watch live but I doubt I will....

I remember watching Diana and Charles, getting up at 5am with my oldest sister....

I really wish them well. Living in the media spot light would not be fun!

I love weddings, heck I've had two myself!
I won't be getting up to watch it lilve though. I'll just catch the highlights I think. I think your plans sound like a lot of fun Marla. You'll have to wear a hat and have a champagne toast

I guess this wedding will give every little girl hope of becoming a princess since she is a commoner.

Oh and I have planned for Harris to wear his Union Jack shirt in honour of the event on Friday. Smile
