Anyway, we're planning our pre-summer (i.e. end of May) vacation around the Philadelphia area. DS will just have turned 3, so we're planning everything around kid-friendly activities. The big destination is Sesame Place, and we're also considering the Philadelphia Zoo, the Crayola Factory, and New Hope. Hershey may be a detour, but we'll have to see. Admission to Sesame Place is a 2-day thing, so if DS has fun the first day, we'll probably go back again. It's about a 7- or 8-hour drive, so hopefully that won't be too bad.

We also make an annual trek to the Sterling Renaissance Festival (across the border from Gananoque, Ontario and about 1 hour west). It's always a great day for the entire family.
I was also looking into taking a family vacation in May and was thinking of doing stuff around the Philadelphia area. I'm still researching it, but I thought the Crayola Factory and Hershey would be fun.

What is the Sterling Renissance Festival? It wouldn't be too far for us.

Peddler's Village (near New Hope) is another place we've decided to visit. It's got a place called Giggler's Mountain which is an indoor activity place. If we had more time, we might visit the Philadelphia Zoo, but we'll have to see. I had also thought about checking out the Please Touch Museum, but it's on the other side of Philadelphia from where we're concentrating our stay. We've got our hotel booked (one with an indoor pool!), and I'm really looking forward to it.

DH and I have been going to the Sterling Renaissance Festival every summer for the past 5 years. (We actually went twice last year!) It's a great place for the whole family. It's located in its own piece of forest - with no bugs! And even though it's during the hot summer months, the canopy of trees provides a nice shaded environment. There's lots of entertainment for everyone: parade, sword swallowers, jugglers, musicians, the mud pit, Hey Nunnie Nunnie, jousting, glass blowing demonstrations, palm reading. There are also a ton of vendors: leather masks, renaissance costumes, jewellery, candles, pottery, etc. There are even rides for the kids which are manually operated, and adults can try axe throwing, archery, etc. There's also a great variety of food. We love it, and find the day is over all too soon.

I don't know if your little guy is a fan of trains, but I found this place that would be really fun if he was. You can get to rid the train too. Thomas the Tank also comes there 3x a year, but he won't be there until June and we are going mid May. My DS is a train fan, so I think we will be making a visit there.

Me and either Colin or Sierra will be at the game here on Thursday. I thought Colin was going to be out of town, so I said I'd take Sierra, but now he's not, so..... I think Sierra will win though, because she hasn't been to a game yet this season, and it's almost over!
I always forget to check in here!

But yes, we are HUGE Canucks fans! Unfortunately the game did not go over as planned, but it was fun anyways - there were a TON of Vancouver fans too which was awesome.

Lol glad you had fun anyways! I remember when we lived there, Sierra and I went to a game, and we were surrounded by Canucks fans. I'd bet it was almost half and half!

We saw a pretty good game on Thursday. Lots of goals for us and none for Minnesota
