December check-in

1) First name?

2) Any kids/pets/houseplants? How are they doing? Brag 'em up a little!

3) What do you like about your current church? If you don't go to church, what would you like to see/have in a parish?

4) Do you decorate for Christmas? If so, when and how much? (week of Thanksgiving? Christmas Eve? somewhere in between? outside/inside?)

5) What color are your socks?

1) First name? Amy

2) Any kids/pets/houseplants? How are they doing? Brag 'em up a little! Too many! LOL Four kids (three adults) two are at home, the 28 yo and the 4 yo, plus two cats and DSD's dog. Not many houseplants cause I kill them regularly! Kids are good, Zayden just turned 4 is doing okay (for him) in preschool, looking forward to Christmas to have all my kids and grandbabies home.

3) What do you like about your current church? If you don't go to church, what would you like to see/have in a parish? I like that our church is mostly family friendly, is right down the street, and has a Sunday school class/daycare for Zayden's age.

4) Do you decorate for Christmas? If so, when and how much? (week of Thanksgiving? Christmas Eve? somewhere in between? outside/inside?) YES -- this year we are really having fun with it. We started decorated this last weekend so December. Both inside and outside

5) What color are your socks? LOL I usually don't wear any but today am wearing boots so put some one, cream knee highs Smile

Thanks for starting this!!

1) First name? Missy

2) Any kids/pets/houseplants? How are they doing? Brag 'em up a little! Kids -- yes! Pets: yes! Houseplants: Until I murder them -- yes!! ROFL

Seriously -- the kids are doing well. I love listening to their conversations (or at times, I should call them negotiations!) This time of year, they are busy creating gifts for Christmas and the December birthdays... older ones immersed in exams and work (woohoo! NOT!) Queen of the roost at the moment is the 3 yr old. She watched 'The Nutcracker" this past weekend and has been practicing her twirls, leaps, and pirouettes ever since. LOL

3) What do you like about your current church? If you don't go to church, what would you like to see/have in a parish? I love our current parish. It is very family friendly with lots of activities, classes, and groups to choose from. Downside? We live so far away that we are more limited in what we can do.

4) Do you decorate for Christmas? If so, when and how much? (week of Thanksgiving? Christmas Eve? somewhere in between? outside/inside?) We normally decorate more inside and out. This year we have so much going on that we are simplifying some. We did more at my parents' as that is where our extended family gathering takes place.

5) What color are your socks?[/QUOTE] Smile Bare here too most of the time. Otherwise, sock color varies. Athletic shoes -- white. Boots or when it is cold and I simply want something on my feet -- everything from creme to fun prints with monkeys and everything in between. Blum 3

1) First name? Emily

2) Any kids/pets/houseplants? How are they doing? Brag 'em up a little! 2 active girls, see siggy for ages. The little one is in a very busy stage of development, exploring anything and everything. Keeps me on my toes! Bragging.. let's see. DD1 is reading and seems more grown-up every day. So independent and sweet, especially with her little sister. DD2 is picking up signs like crazy, and even speaks a few words (hi, mama, book, uh-oh, and I think I hear dog). Opens up a whole new world being able to communicate some!

No pets. Kids are enough for me! Plants don't last long here. DH has a new jade plant he's babying. We'll see how long that survives!

3) What do you like about your current church? Very family friendly. 10AM Mass is very lively! If one of my kids squawks, I can almost guarantee she isn't the only one making noise! Lots of opportunities to get involved (though we haven't done much as of yet). Great school attached- excited to send DD1 to their kindergarten next fall! Dynamic priests. Two priests and a seminarian who all give awesome homilies and know parishioners by first name.

4) Do you decorate for Christmas? If so, when and how much? Yes, but not much. We're decorating-challenged, and this year we have a busy toddler who would love to help us undecorate, I'm sure. We'll put up the fake tree this week, and maybe do a wreath on the door, but that's it. Someday.. lights for the outside of the house??? A girl can dream, right?

5) What color are your socks? Barefoot right now!
