    Default First Reconciliation and Eucharist

Here we go! Isaiah is in second grade and we start the big year of prep for these milestones. Can I admit that I am the one who is nervous. I joined the Church via RCIA and received the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation all at once. I will admit to never going to Reconciliation myself, ever! Bad Melanie! We shall see what this year brings. We have a meeting for parents during Isaiah's first class. He has been involved in our church's Family Enrichment Program (FEP) since he was 4, so at least he is used to going every Sunday.

You'll have to let us know how the meeting/first class goes! When will he make his first reconciliation? In May?

They do it in groups at different masses starting right after Easter. So, I am not sure exactly when, but I am sure we will know soon.

It turns out the meeting is next week. So, I will let you know what they say then. I do know we are getting a lot of materials to work on at home. I pray that we do an okay job getting him ready. We are off and on church goers. It is hard with the twins, so there are times we are so exhausted that the thought of even trying to get out the door just makes us want to lay down and go to sleep. We want to be better at getting there regularly. I hope we can do that this year. Last year, we all got sick and it all passed through for weeks upon weeks. I think we didn't go for about 4 months straight because someone always had a nasty cough/runny nose. I didn't want to expose anyone at church considered the girls will just wipe it all over you.

I will say that the girls did fantastic yesterday. Books and some goldfish grahams kept them pretty occupied. They wanted to check out all the people, but thankfully did not scream (much) when we would redirect them back to us.

Glad the girls did well at church! That age is tough, in terms of keeping kids semi-quiet and preventing them from being a distraction!

I would love to hear updates about how Isaiah does with the prep classes.

PS- Cannot believe your girls are so big! Weren't they just born??

I know! The girls are hard sometimes. Somehow, we seem to be surviving during Mass. I think we annoyed some parents next to us though. They must have taken their son to the nursery and got stuck next to the parents with the 7yo and the twins! HA! Oh, and I decided not to brave church this weekend because I would have to go by myself. I am glad I didn't. It turned out that the nursery wasn't available, so I would have been tackling two babies during Mass all by my self.

Isaiah's first reconciliation is 12/3. He has a retreat on 11/12, which is my birthday. DH is staying home with the girls and I will go with Isaiah. I feel like it will be good for me to go to the retreat. Maybe I will ask if I can take cupcakes to celebrate!

As for the girls getting ready to turn 2...I know, right! How did that happen? Of course, how is that you have a newborn already. It seems like you were just newly pregnant yesterday! I wish I could say that time doesn't just fly by, but since DS started school, it seems like it goes by faster and faster. I swear he was just in K last week. What happened?

It will be nice to spend that time with him at the retreat. And who could say no to cupcakes?

Pregnancy flew by for me (well, except that last couple weeks, lol) and I can't believe she's been here for almost a month already. And I can't believe my other baby is already four! Wasn't she just born?

I swear time goes in warp speed once you have kids.
