Please keep my brother in your thoughts and prayers this week as we await test results. He has been struggling with his health for the past few years but is now becoming more critical. They have not been able to find the exact diagnosis yet (hence another round of testing following his latest ER run.) He's had multiple surgeries (including an exploratory that failed to find anything.) I have not been able to talk with him yet... hopefully he'll be able to later today.
My parents, (mom in particular), are really struggling with this news. You may recall that my other brothers have passed away (3) due to varying causes -- all completely unrelated.
I'll be thinking of your brother and your family. Not knowing the cause of the issues must be so frustrating!
Keep us posted!
Sorry for not being able to come back 'til now. He has gained some of his strength back and is home. He is trying to get the ability to travel back to visit my mom and dad before he has to have surgery. Thank you all for the prayers. I definitely will keep you posted!
I wanted to thank you all for the continued prayers and to share an update. Unfortunately, he is not able to come back home at this time. They are moving to another hospital even further away -- one of three for this particular type of surgery and treatment. His surgery will be next Monday (23rd) followed by a lengthy hospital stay and even longer stay in the area. At some point I may go down to give my SIL a break but I am still trying to work out those details. I'll let you know.
Thank you for all the positive thoughts and prayers! I wanted to let you know that he did make it through the surgery! Also, while he is still in ICU and expected to be there for a while, overall, he is doing better than expected! It is going to be a long recovery but I'm so very happy with his progress thus far.
Sorry I haven't checked this board in awhile. How is your brother doing, Missy?
I've missed you (and everyone!)
My brother was released from the hospital. They struggled a bit to get his medications all regulated but believe that now they have the right combination. He has to spend some time in the area and then his hope is to travel home -- check on things there -- and then take a little time to go along the coast with his wife for respite. He said he realized how long it has been since they had any type of break from doctors, hospitals, etc. and that she deserves a chance to recoup... as does he. He won't be able to go out in the sun but said he thinks being able to sit in a shaded spot on the ocean will be relaxing. His energy levels are extremely low now (understandably.) I think we are all just extremely thankful that he has done this well thus far!
Thanks for asking -- and for all the prayers!
Sorry I haven't responded yet. I did read your response in my email notification and then I just...I don't know!
I'm keeping him (and you/your family) in my prayers! So glad he was released and is doing a bit better. Please keep us posted.
