Thread: White Smoke -- we have a new Pope

Awaiting right now to find out who our new Pope is.

Congratulations on your new Pope. I pray that he will lead your church in the way Christ would want.

I am fairly hopeful for this Pope. He came from a large family; dealt with impoverished conditions personally and within his service as priest and bishop of Argentina. He is conservative, and best of all news for me was he seems to truly have a "pastoral" heart that has been able to connect the faith with the "common man." I think that is so incredibly important to help instruct and teach people in and about the faith. He did a series on EWTN years ago (in Spanish) that I was able to catch a snippet of that appeared to reach people in sharing the message of Christ.

I also truly love that he appears to have a humble heart -- with a strong focus on asking everyone to pray for him FIRST -- before offering a prayer for the people.

That will remain on my 'to do' list as always.
