TTC-wise, I no longer consider us "JLIH;" I would say a more accurate description would be, "not trying, yet not preventing, either."

Family-wise, my DH is wanting to either get a 2nd job, or a different job, and is thinking about going to school to become a pharmacy technician. He told me this the other day and it kind of surprised me, as he has always been the "wood-working" or "mechanical" type. Not cars, though he has the skill, he HATES working on cars, but machines, etc. I think he would make a good Pharmacy Tech, though. He's very detail-oriented (except when it comes to any kind of housework, LOL).

As for moi - I own a business now selling purses, organizational totes, etc., and it's going great so far. It's always hard work owning your own business in the beginning because you are the one doing all the work, but down the road I know it will get easier when I make enough income to hire employees to help me.

My DD will be starting Kindergarten on Aug 20, and I'm not sure if I'm ready yet. lol. In one way, it will be good for my business since I'll have more time to devote to it while she's in school, but on the other hand, I will miss her. Her school is SEVEN hours. SEV-EN. For five days per week! It will take some getting used to.

    Hi all!

Mary - It sounds like you've got busy times. Yay for your business going well...that is awesome! And good for DH. There definitely seems to be plenty of jobs for Pharmacy techs, and they are good paying jobs. SEVEN hours?!? That's a really long day, especially for Kindergarten! But, she will certainly get a lot done. A lot of districts up here (not mine) still only have 1/2 day kindergarten, and it just isn't enough. I hope she has a great time, and I'm sure you'll adjust, but I know it'll be hard for you.

AFM - Well, TTC is still in the JLIH category. DH is really not enthusiastic about kids at all right now ( ) but is in the "if it is supposed to happen, it'll happen" category. Summer is flying by...I can't believe it is AUGUST (one of the dirtiest words in a teacher's vocabulary...only September is worse. ) I'm helping this week with VBS at church, and trying to do crafty stuff. I went to a class at my local yarn and fiber store and learned how to spin my own yarn. SO cool! I need a lot of practice, but it is definitely something to keep me busy.

Going into the school year, I'm hoping to get myself going building up a group of private music students. Eventually I'd like to build up a big enough studio in order to do that full time. But, for now just a few students after school will give me a start (and some extra $.)

Thanks, Jean. How neat about spinning your own yarn! And what a great idea to do private music lessons. Sorry your DH isn't enthusiastic about kids right now. Hope he gets on the bandwagon soon. *Hugs*

DH got off work early today so he's working on my car to get the alternator changed. Can you believe my "new" car had the alternator go bad already? Gah. Oh well I am just thankful that we caught it early so that it didn't leave me stranded, and also that DH can do it himself so it saved us a lot of money (though alternators aren't cheap). He was suspecting that the idler arm might have to be replaced, too, but I'm hoping not. We shall see. Anyway, I was hoping to get some housework done today, but my back is not cooperating (see below).

    Elizabeth -
how are you? I've been thinking of you and your back and hope you're doing okay and not in too much pain. I actually have back problems myself today. I'm pretty sure I strained something when I was helping my DD "fly" the other day. Guess I forgot that she's a big girl now! LOL. ~Le Sigh~ Good thing I finally figured out a way to sit comfortably in my office chair since I don't have a laptop (yet), otherwise I wouldn't be on here at all today, it would be too painful. I put a small pillow behind my lower back and schooched down to where I'm in more of a reclining position, with my feet up on the bottom shelf of the computer desk. I wish I could find my electric back massager! It was in my closet but now it's gone. How does an entire back massager disappear? Grrrr. lol.

Yay chatting! Thanks for asking about me.

Jean- spinning your own yarn sounds awesome! Right now I'm just learning to knit. It's the perfect pastime for me since I've been lounging around so much.

And yay for private music lessons! I was doing that a bit last school year. Mostly voice lessons.

I'm sorry about your DH being unsure about TTC right now. I'm concerned that with my health issues thatmy DH is leaning that way, too.

Mary- I cam't believe you're already having problems with your new car. Such a bummer. We just had to do a bunch of work on our van because it idles so loudly. We changed the idler pully, the harmonic balancer, and the water pump. It's still making the same noise. Turns out it's the AC compressor. So no AC for us. It's a good thing we live up north!

I'm sorry you twinged your back. Back pain stinks. Oh, and I hear you on your back massager. I can always find my massager, but not the power cord. It's like the massager is mocking me.

AFM- you obviously know where we are when it comes to TTC. I have peace about it now, as long as I stay away from all my pregnant friends. lol. Although right now I'm on CD31 with no AF. Which doesn't usually happen for me. Even when I don't O I have a really light AF around the right time. Of course I have a wonky cycle when I don't temp! I wasn't temping because I was waking in the middle of the night to take meds.

My pain level has definitely gone down, but it's been replaced with a lot of numbness. Honestly, I pick the numbness. but I guess that means the injury is more severe. I had a break down last week because my doctor called me in for a reassessment and he didn't like the results. I've completely lostmy Achilles reflex and have reduced strength in my left leg. So he said I should have surgery in the next two weeks. Then he calls me later that day and tells me the surgeon thinkis it can wait and it may be anywhere between 1-6 months before I have surgery. So I'm up in the air for that. Now I know I won't be ale to teach this semester. I'm so bummed about that.

Good news- next week is our town's big fair (DH is on the board of directors, which is funny because he is NOT a fair-type person) and MIL is coming up from Vancouver to help take care of the kids. Yay! I love MIL.

Oh Elizabeth, huge hugs, hun I will continue to pray for you. So glad MIL is coming to help, and yay for the fair! Will you be able to go?

Still having back issues here. It was much worse this morning, I could barely walk, DH had to help me to the bathroom. I took some ibuprofen and went back to bed, and wound up sleeping until 10:30am. So not like me. But then my back felt better! Not great, but better enough to go grocery shopping this afternoon since my DH got off work early again today and I could use his truck (he had not quite finished working on my car yesterday).

I went by an animal clinic first to find out what their rates were on getting shots, etc. for our kittens, then to Walmart to get Hannah's school supplies (tax free weekend, yay!) and do the grocery shopping. It took about two hours, and by the end my back was really starting to feel it, but at least I got it done. Tomorrow I want to take Hannah to get her hair cut and a manicure and go to the mall since it's supposed to rain with a tropical wave coming our way (it's not expected to strengthen into a tropical storm or anything).

And... my car is now fixed!

Mary- yay for the car being fixed!! Ugh.. I can't even think of back to school shopping right now. Thankfully school is another month away for us. I hope that your back keeps improving. Take it easy, girl!!

AFM- I went to the physical therapist yesterday. I've gone to physio a lot, and yesterday's experience was completely different. She looked over my past history, she did a few tests to see how severe it was and looked at me and said "oh sh*t. You need surgery. Now." She showed me some exercises while I'm waiting for surgery, but said it's too bad to even try to treat (as in surgery prevention).

So I went home and told DH about the appointment and Ainsley heard me tell him what the physio said, so she started running around the house saying, "Oh, sh*t! Oh, sh*t!" Oops!! I can just see her pulling that one out at church on Sunday. Oh, look at the pastor's daughter running around yelling cuss words. hahaha! sigh.

Oh, and still no AF. I very warily tested today and was relieved to see a BFN. I'm just getting more evidence in my arsenal to get testing for PCOS.

Oops, hopefully your LO kept that one under wraps. lol. I'm sure that didn't make you feel any better to hear that from the PT. Ugh. How is the pain now? Is it manageable at least?

My back has been slow to heal, but it's been slowly getting better. If only I could make myself "just rest" long enough it probably wouldn't take as long, but I'm stubborn Well, there are other reasons, too, but I'd rather not say.

This week I plan to start back doing workouts again and getting serious with the exercise. I'm going to ease back into it gradually, though.

Hello ladies! And hello, CD 50. Still no AF.

Jean, how have you been? Has school started yet?

    Mary? How's your back?

AFM- still waiting for surgery. Should be in the next few weeks. Apparently i've been pushed back because I live in the north. If I still lived in he Vancouver area I would have had surgery already. I also found out my friend's dad is the charge nurse of the ER at the hospital where I'm supposed to have surgery so we may make the trip down and show up at the ER.

    Hopefully everyone is doing well!

Hi Elizabeth! My back is doing much better now, thanks. How's yours? Sorry you have to wait longer for the surgery. Hope your dad can pull some strings!

Hello to everyone else What's new?

Hannah started kindergarten Monday so it's been an adjustment. She went to Pre-K but that was only 3 hrs, whereas now she's in school for almost 7 hrs! I didn't know what to do with myself that first day. I was supposed to take the day off and have fun, but I couldn't relax! I was missing her too much! lol.

Maybe I'll try taking next Mon off.

    Gotta go. TTYL
