Smile Charter's Weekly Meeting (Tues, Jan 10) ~ Discuss POAS!

Sorry I'm a day late this week! Bringing coffee with fat-free whipped cream and FRUIT this week since so many of us are on a diet to lose that holiday weight! (LOL)

    This week's topic for discussion:
    POAS! OPKs and HPTs.

    1. Do you pee on opks (ovulation predictor kit sticks)? If so, what's your favorite brand? How does it make you feel when you see that blazing +opk?
    2. HPTs: Do you start early or wait to see if AF shows first? If you start early, how early? What's your favorite brand?
    3. Share your most embarrassing/funny/frustrating moment(s) while POAS!

    YUM! Fruit!

    1. Do you pee on opks (ovulation predictor kit sticks)? If so, what's your favorite brand? How does it make you feel when you see that blazing +opk?

Oh yeah, I pee on anything that'll give me two lines. I've tried so many different brands but I think I like the answer brand dip sticks the best because they aren't as sensitive. I always have really strong and looong surges and sometimes even get false positives so I can't use super sensitive opks. This cycle, I've been using the answer brand, EPT.com tests and CBE digitals as well...lol....yep, all three! Oh and when I see a blazin positive I get super giddy....almost as excited as when I see a bfp!

    2. HPTs: Do you start early or wait to see if AF shows first? If you start early, how early? What's your favorite brand?

I've been known to test as early as 4dpo.... BUT, now that I know I don't get bfps before 11 dpo I just don't bother testing before that....maybe. I like ICs since I'm such a POASholic and FRER to confirm.

    3. Share your most embarrassing/funny/frustrating moment(s) while POAS!

Hmmm....I don't think I really have any. I'm not embarrassed about POAS at all.

C'mon ladies, I KNOW Jina isn't the only one around here who pees on sticks.

I'm not currently POAS, but when I was....

    1. I liked the Dollar Tree brand of opks, back before they discontinued them

    2. For a long time, I started POAS on HPTs pretty early on, as early as 6 dpo sometimes. Crazy, I know, but I was obsessed. One day I had finally had my fill of early testing, though, and threw in the towel (or, cup, as it were). I never really had a favorite brand of hpt, because none of them would give me the answer I was looking for. Just kidding... I guess I like Answer brand. Gives early results just like FRERs, but cheaper.

    3. Oh, the stories I could tell. Once I POAS in a public bathroom and didn't have a cup so thought I'd attempt peeing on the stick again (which I had not had much luck with before) and wouldn't ya know, I completely missed the stick altogether!

    2. HPTs: Do you start early or wait to see if AF shows first? If you start early, how early? What's your favorite brand?
I think Jason is more of a POAS addict than me, because he pushed for EARLY testing! The first month of TTC, I started testing the day after O. I've convinced him since that I should wait until 8DPO.

There was one time when I was pulling the cup out from between my legs, and managed to dump pee on my pants! I now know that the cup doesn't need that much pee in it, lol. I also once set my cup on the floor while I was getting up from the toilet, and I knocked the cup over, spilling pee all over my bathroom rug. ...and there's the countless times I've peed on my hand, or spilled it on my hand...

I pee on opks often. I would call my obsession on the mild side. I usually use the do.llar store ones and I hardly ever get a positive. Last month I used some I got from target while visiting the U.S. (they were just like the ICs) and I got blazing positives three days straight. I love seeing those two lines, though. Just wish it were for an hpt.

I've pushed back to starting testing on day 13 or so. I have a 12 day LP usually. I'm so done with testing early. I have mostly dollar store tests but am saving some frers that I got for cheap in the states. If I get a bfp on a cheapie, I'll bust out the big boys. Lol

I forgot to talk about how +OPKs made me feel. LOVED getting them, because to me it was a sign of hope, that "this might be the month we catch the egg." It would also make me dream of seeing the same kind of dark line on an hpt.

Tina, I never used opks back when DH and I were BD regularly, either. Of course, that was while we were newly married, and before we had our daughter. Now things aren't quite as "simple." lol.
