Check it out?

How much do you think that outdoor temperatures affect BBT?

It's been really hot here lately, and we don't have a/c. I wake up to temp every morning at 6:00AM, but this morning I was wide-eyed at 5:30AM and temped then instead. It just so happens that the outdoor temperature dropped significantly as well last night, close to an 8*C cooler low than it has been all week. I woke up a little chilly, AND a little early. Should I discard this temp?

Hi! I would say they don't affect the temps much at all. I live way up north and we have erratic temperatures. Most of the time it's really cool, but every once in a while we get a heat wave. We have no A/C or anything, and I never see a fluctuation in my temps out of the norm. At least that's my personal opinon.

I noticed you're coming off AF, though. A lot of times my temps are sustained higher during AF and then drop once she leaves the building. That might be why you have a dip. Plus, one temp that's lower won't throw your coverline off much. So, I would probably leave it in there and see what happens. Smile

I agree with Elizabeth. I wouldn't discard it, it's only one temp anyway. Besides, FF will still count it even if you discard it (not sure why), the only way FF wouldn't count it is if you removed it altogether.

I would also leave the temp where it is. Are you doing opks this cycle? Maybe you are gearing up to ovulate earlier this cycle? At least I hope that's the case.

Yeah, totally haven't been using OPKs, I've been so busy, I keep forgetting. I might try to do one later this evening though!
