I only ask because my doctor always told me that a definite temp shift meant ovulation. I'd test 7 days past O and it was low, like 4 or 7. But my LP was only 8 days long. When i tested at day 4 it was around 12.

I "O'd" on the 22nd, according to the OPKs, and my reading was done on the 29th, so 7 days later. It was 5.6 or something like that.

I didnt even bother to take my temp this morning. I was so frustrated. Part of me keeps hoping she's wrong. Maybe I'll test in a couple more days anyway. I am just so confused.

How long is your LP?

Sounds like you might have a progesterone issue too. I was worried I wasn't ovulating either, but there was always a definite temp shift / jump in my chart. Once I added progesterone after that jump, my LP's lengthened from 8 to 10 days. I was able to get pregnant(and stick) 6 cycles later.

Not saying that's all you need or anything (i'm no doctor). Even with my definite O, my doctor wanted to prescribe me clomid to strengthen it, so she said. Looking at your charts from April, really only the July one looks crazy to me.

Either way, like I said, I'm no expert, and i really hope you and your OB find something that works for you.

Well, my LP from what I can tell is usually 15 days. Some good news is that AF arrived Friday morning, so that means last month was only a 30 day cycle for me. Yay! Hopefully this will be a better month. We'll see!

:director: Calling all charters! Where arrrrre yyyooooouuuu :):):)

Some good news for us, long-story-short, we may have an answer to DH's issues... he's on antibiotics right now and we'll see what happens.... anyway, I got a +OPK yesterday and nice temp jump this morning, which must mean I O'd yesterday, same day as the +, however... no BD around O time this time around, so, better luck next month, right?

How is everyone?

I've been doing a little more research. At this point, I'm just waiting for my appt with the endocrinologist that my OB referred me to. My insulin is high, and from what I've read, high insulin in women with PCOS is often a reason that they don't ovulate. If we can get the insulin under control, then hopefully my body will start ovulating like it's supposed to. I feel like at this point, my body was doing all th chemical work prepping for ovulation, but the actual release never happened. I'm just speculating though.

My appt is this coming Friday, so we'll see how things go then.

Mary.... good luck next month Biggrin

I clicked on the link and read it. Hugs, Amanda. It's tough, I know. Girl, I've been there on the losing weight thing. I never thought I would lose even the weight I have, and am even struggling now to make the commitment to lose the rest of it. I struggled for years, and the one thing that FINALLY worked for me was 1) Doing the Couch to 5K program and the Jillian 30-Day Shred, and 2) Utilizing Sparkpeople.com, which is a free website. It is so easy to use and they do meal plans FOR you, and it even prints up a grocery list AND you can print the meal plans out to put on your fridge. PLus it has lot of other things on that website to motivate you: blogs from other members, articles, new healthier versions of favorite dishes, etc.

Now, the Couch to 5K program and Jillian workout was what worked for ME. You might find something else better suited for you. Just find what will really motivates you to keep getting up off the couch to exercise. Those two things motivated me because I LOVE a challenge.

And here's the encouraging part. The more you exercise, the more you can eat! Not just because you're burning more calories, but because you metabolism gets revved up! So you can get away with eating even more. Especially strength-training. Personally, I didn't want to go to a gym, so I did (and still do) Jillian's (and now others') DVDs at home.

YOU CAN DO THIS. If I can do it, ANYBODY can. TRUST me.

Yes, healthy food tends to be more expensive. But you can focus in on the cheapest healthy food, LOL. That's what I do. Look for sales, too. Buy frozen veggies in bulk. Broccoli is fairly cheap and is one of THE best veggies for you (nutrient-wise). Packages of stir-fry veggies are great, too, because then you can just throw in some chicken and a side of brown rice or sweet potato and you're good to go. I do buy the packaged salad, but don't buy too much at one time to avoid it going bad. I used to buy fresh veggies, but quickly learned that it was a waste of money because at least part of it would usually go bad! I do buy bananas, though, and on occasion something like grapes or other fruit, if I'm sure that I'll eat it soon (pears keep great in the fridge). I buy all my berries frozen and nuke them in the microwave for 40-45 seconds and they're ready to use in just about anything. Nuke them a little longer (50 secs or so) and they make a great mock syrup for pancakes or waffles (look for Kashi waffles, they make healthy ones. Get them when they're on sale). Frozen berries are also great for smoothies! I buy plain, nonfat yogurt in the big tub (MUCH cheaper that way) and use that for smoothies, too, and also for snacks. I dole out 1 cup, mix in a sliced banana, squeeze in a little lemon juice (from the little lemon container found in the produce department, of course! :)), and add in a packet of Stevia in the Raw (stevia is an all-natural sweetener and 0 cals) for a quick snack or "dessert"!

I am here if you need my support. PM me anytime, girl! Also, if you sign up on Sparkpeople, let me know so we can "friend" each other there (Or just look me up -- I'm "Fatbustinmom" :)).

Hi ladies. I took a cycle off from charting because I was getting too stressed. I don't think it helped me relax at all! lol... so, I'm back now.

Amanda, I read your update. I'm sorry about the news you got. I'm dreading going to my doctor because I know he'll probably have similar news for me. Sad Thinking of you.
