    1. Do you still wear a watch, or use your cell phone as a watch now?
still wear a watch. I actually don't keep my cell with me all the time. We're one of the oddballs that doesn't use the cell very often.

    2. Do you still write letters to long distance friends/family with pen and ink?
No, usually email. Although my mil still writes us letters and I love it. I keep them to show the boys on down the road.

    3. Do you still send/give physical birthday cards, or just wish happy birthday on FB or send an e-card?
Both. I send cards to my inlaws and my family but usually email or FB for friends.

    4. Did you send Christmas cards this past December (2011)? If so, what kind?
Yep We always send a photo card with the boys' pics on it in the mail.

    5. Do you still call friends on the phone just to chat, or do you mostly just text or send IMs/PMs/emails now?
Usually call. If it's just a quick ? or update on something, then I may text or email.

    6. If you do still chat on the phone, would you say you still call just as often, or less, now that texting, etc., is more popular?
    Probably less

    7. Do you think that texting, IM'ing, FB, emails, etc., has made people overall less sociable and less likely to get together in person?
I think it has. Texting is nice for quick things but nothing can take the place of face to face conversation or even talking on the phone. Sometimes, you just need to hear a person's voice.

    1. Do you still wear a watch, or use your cell phone as a watch now? No, after my last watch quit working, I just used my cell phone to check the time after that. I don't think I'd mind getting another watch, though.

    2. Do you still write letters to long distance friends/family with pen and ink? Sadly, no (except for party/event invites, I still try to do those with pen and ink). I do have Hannah send something handwritten from time to time, though, but it's usually pretty short. I really miss the handwritten letters I used to still get from my grandmother, she was the last person who still sent them that way (and I would always respond with a handwritten letter myself). After she passed away, that was the end of that. I've thought about continuing her 'tradition' in honor of her, by starting to write my long-distance relatives and friends again with handwritten letters.

    3. Do you still send/give physical birthday cards, or just wish happy birthday on FB or send an e-card? Local family, I give physical birthday cards. Long distance, I still send physical birthday cards to DH's niece and nephew, but everyone else I usually wish them happy birthday via FB (same with friends). However, I want to start sending them by mail again, if I can just get myself organized enough to do it (buy cards ahead of time, have them ready to mail, etc.).

    4. Did you send Christmas cards this past December (2011)? If so, what kind? I am ashamed to say that no, I didn't. Kept meaning to, had the cards all ready to write in and send off, but I failed to do it.

    5. Do you still call friends on the phone just to chat, or do you mostly just text or send IMs/PMs/emails now? About half and half. I have to admit that chatting via text/FB/etc. is MUCH easier when you have a young child because they LOVE to make all kinds of noise and try to talk to you just as soon as you get on the phone to talk, and it's very distracting and frustrating! (And by the way, back before I had children, I remember how frustrating it was trying to talk to one particular friend of mine who had young children, because she kept having to stop to correct them. At that time, I vowed that when I had children, I would make sure MY children didn't interrupt me while on the phone! HA! )

    6. If you do still chat on the phone, would you say you still call just as often, or less, now that texting, etc., is more popular? Definitely less.

    7. Do you think that texting, IM'ing, FB, emails, etc., has made people overall less sociable and less likely to get together in person? Sadly, yes.

    1. Do you still wear a watch, or use your cell phone as a watch now? yes, I wear one. I'm lost without my watch and need it to keep on schedule during the school day. Constantly getting out my cell to do that is frowned upon.

    2. Do you still write letters to long distance friends/family with pen and ink? nope. haven't written a real letter in forever. Probably since I was in college.

    3. Do you still send/give physical birthday cards, or just wish happy birthday on FB or send an e-card? yes, to family and friends that I see now and then. FB friends mostly get FB birthday wishes.

    4. Did you send Christmas cards this past December (2011)? If so, what kind? yes. Standard Christmas greetings you get by the box in the card store. They were more like New Year's cards by the time I got them out, but that's an improvement for me...

    5. Do you still call friends on the phone just to chat, or do you mostly just text or send IMs/PMs/emails now? mostly just txts and emails. I actually have someone who I consider a very close friend who I met here on the boards. We've been friends for almost 2 years and have only ever "talked" by txt, email, and we IM almost every evening!

    6. If you do still chat on the phone, would you say you still call just as often, or less, now that texting, etc., is more popular? I never cared for talking on the phone, even as a child. I was always uncomfortable with it. So I am totally all over the texting, etc more than talking. (Yes, I'm a little odd... )

    7. Do you think that texting, IM'ing, FB, emails, etc., has made people overall less sociable and less likely to get together in person?
I do think people are less sociable. We are able to be in almost constant contact with everybody through technology (like with the friend I mentioned before) and I think people just don't feel the need to be "face-to-face." It's a shame, really.

    1. Do you still wear a watch, or use your cell phone as a watch now? I wear a watch all the time, I feel pretty naked without it! I do check the time on my cell, but mostly only this time of year when I'm all bundled up and don't want to fiddle around with mittens, pushing coat sleeves up.

    2. Do you still write letters to long distance friends/family with pen and ink? No I don't write to many people at all. Period. I should start writing to my grandparents more, they'd appreciate it.

    3. Do you still send/give physical birthday cards, or just wish happy birthday on FB or send an e-card? Actual birthdays cards. I usually make all of the cards that I give. I never wish HBD on Facebook, that's just my thing though.

    4. Did you send Christmas cards this past December (2011)? If so, what kind? I only gave cards to the people I saw in person this year, but those were hand made. I'm planning my wedding, money's tight, and I was way too busy doing a handmade Christmas this year. I was still knitting on Christmas Eve!

    5. Do you still call friends on the phone just to chat, or do you mostly just text or send IMs/PMs/emails now? I text a lot. I've never been much of a phone person, and all of my friends have such different schedules, it's hard to get them on the phone in the first place. I like texting because there's not pressure. If the recipient doesn't have time to answer right away, they can get to it when they have time!

    6. If you do still chat on the phone, would you say you still call just as often, or less, now that texting, etc., is more popular? I use the phone WAYYY less than I ever used to.

    7. Do you think that texting, IM'ing, FB, emails, etc., has made people overall less sociable and less likely to get together in person? Personally? Yes. Plans seem less concrete, and it's not like before, if you had dinner plans and decided that you weren't feeling 100% and couldn't get ahold of your date on the phone to tell them, you'd just GO because you didn't want to stand them up. Now, you send off an email, text and voicemail to cover as many bases as you can to tell them you won't be there.

    1. Do you still wear a watch, or use your cell phone as a watch now?
I've never worn a watch. I can't handle things on my wrists! I know... I'm crazy!

    2. Do you still write letters to long distance friends/family with pen and ink?
    No. I wish I did.

    3. Do you still send/give physical birthday cards, or just wish happy birthday on FB or send an e-card?
I have a stack of cards I've bought over the past few years, but I always forget to mail them. I suck at long distance communication. Which is bad because all of our family lives at least 13 hours away.

    4. Did you send Christmas cards this past December (2011)? If so, what kind?
No. I had committed to too much with the school and our church and didn't get around to it.

    5. Do you still call friends on the phone just to chat, or do you mostly just text or send IMs/PMs/emails now?
I text my bestie because she has a crappy phone plan and texting is free. Everyone else I'll call or text depending on the situation. I don't like talking on the phone, so I usually don't call people just to chat.

    6. If you do still chat on the phone, would you say you still call just as often, or less, now that texting, etc., is more popular?
probably less often. Not because of texting, though. We skype all of our family that lives far away. It's free. And it's a video call so the kids love it.

    7. Do you think that texting, IM'ing, FB, emails, etc., has made people overall less sociable and less likely to get together in person?
Definitely. I hate being at a party with friends and everyone has their face in their phones. Annoying.

    1. Do you still wear a watch, or use your cell phone as a watch now?

I stopped wearing watches when I was seventeen and lost my 6th watch!

    2. Do you still write letters to long distance friends/family with pen and ink?

We send handwritten letters/cards to grandparents. We also always send handwritten thank you notes. I adore cute stationery!

    3. Do you still send/give physical birthday cards, or just wish happy birthday on FB or send an e-card?

    Always physical cards.

    4. Did you send Christmas cards this past December (2011)? If so, what kind?

Yep...I can't remember exactly what they looked like though...lol. I just picked them up at Target.

    5. Do you still call friends on the phone just to chat, or do you mostly just text or send IMs/PMs/emails now?

Mostly emails. I've never really liked talking on the phone....strange huh?

    6. If you do still chat on the phone, would you say you still call just as often, or less, now that texting, etc., is more popular?

    Definitely less.

    7. Do you think that texting, IM'ing, FB, emails, etc., has made people overall less sociable and less likely to get together in person?

Hmmm....probably. Though, Hubby and I are anti- FB and texting so we probably still see everyone just as much as before.
