    Default Hey everyone....

Hey guys. I've been MIA for a few months (got really discouraged and had to take a break), but I have some exciting news! NO - I'm not pregnant yet. However, I have lost 25 pounds since I was diagnosed with PCOS and Insulin Resistence (pre-diabetic) back in November. I had my yearly appt 2 weeks ago, and doc agreed to start me on chlomid for my next cycle. Well, guess what? Today is CD1 and I'll be starting chlomid on Wednesday! This is my first round on it and if we're lucky, we'll be looking at a December baby!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

That's amazing! how did you do it? My SIL has PCOS and thyroid issues and really struggles with weight. Would love to pass along anything that worked!

Hubby and I started the Eat Clean Diet. You can google it. Tosca Reno is the spokeswoman for it. It's not a fad diet - it's basicall just not eating processed garbage. The idea is that you eat 5-6 small meansl every 3 hours or so, AND you make sure that you combine a lean protein with a complex carb. Cut out sugar, cut out salt (use sea salt if you're going to use salt) eat lots of veggies, lean proteisn, etc etc.

It sounds overwhelming. But it has worked, and it's easy when you get yourself into the mindset that boxed processed food is garbage, and we should be eating the food that God gave us.

If you need motivation to "scare" yourself into eating that way, watch the netflix documentary called Food Inc.

I've done all the diets. WW, adkins, etc etc. This is the first one I've done that I feel like it's easier to truly make a lifestyle rather than depriving myself of the things I like. Because if you do it long enough, and you learn what garbage processed foods actually are, you won't want to eat that way anymore.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. And love the attitude about adopting a lifestyle change as opposed to "dieting". It's the way to make a change for life!

Well, today was my follow up ultrasound after taking chlomid. Good news: I have a mature follicle. At this point, I'm taking OPKs and hoping for a positive one. Once I get one, I just have to call doc to go in to have blood drawn so they can confirm the progesterone levels. Hubby and I are already DTD every other day right now so that we can hopefully catch it, whenever it comes.

Also had my follow up endocrinology appt today. Doc was VERY pleased with my weight loss and doubled my metformin dose. I go back in 3 more months to see how things are going.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! OMG!!!! I got a YES+ on my digital OPK this morning!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG! Okay, so I know it's not "the" BFP, but I'm still excited.

We DTD last night, but I've been trying to get over a cold, and I was coughing immediately afterwards I hope there was enough time for the strong swimmers to get where they needed to go before my coughing squeezed them out .

Now that we've got a yes, I think we will try again tomorrow morning. The kit says we need to have intercourse within 24-36 hours of getting a YES, so I'm afraid if we wait until tomorrow evening, it will be too late, but I want to give him a little more time to build up too.

Whoop! Will call the doc today to schedule my progesterone reading!
