I'm starting to think I should get a new thermometer. I just bought the dang thing in Nov. It was being kind of wonky, so I replaced the battery. No problems, until now...
Yesterday morn my temp was up (97.9), but I hadn't slept well, and wasn't feeling good, so not really a surprise there.
I'm pretty sure I O'd yesterday evening.
This morning I temped earlier than usual because I woke up to pee. I looked at the temp later on (when I was actually waking up) and it was lower than I expected (97.44). I temped two more times in a row for comparison, and it was 97.70 & 97.92.
I'm confused, frustrated, and wondering if I'm overthinking this. Would love some input!
Could it be that because I (think I) O'd late yesterday(about 9-10pm), my temp just hadn't gone up yet when I first took it this morning? What temp should I chart? What do you think is up with this? Should I plan to get a new thermometer if I'm not pregnant this cycle? Should I try temping vag.? Anyone else have problems like this?

That would be confusing. My best guess is to go by the earlier temp IF it wasn't too much earlier than your normal temp time (look like that's the temp you put on your chart). If it was a lot earlier, then go by the 2nd time you temped (the first temp at that time). Then wait to see what your temp does over the next two days. You might go ahead and buy another thermometer if you think that's the issue and compare temps to see if it gives the same reading, then you'll know if it's accurate or not.
Yeah it was only about an hour earlier than usual. I googled "how many hours past ovulation til temp rises" and it looks like most answers say about 24. I came to the conclusion that if I O'd late last night, it's pretty normal for my temp to not show a difference 9 hours later.
Still not sure what's up with getting the different temps when I take it twice in a row...
