I'm kind of wondering what's going on, trying to resist googling too much into it because it has potential to be nothing. AF is typically 5-6 days for me, for the last 6 mos, I get a bit of spotting throughout the week leading up to it. This time around, no spotting pre-AF, and AF was the usual length, about 5 days. I thought it was over on Saturday, Sunday and Monday during the day were totally free and clear. Monday evening though, I started to bleed again which is unusual for me. Here's the TMI part, but the blood itself seems different than AF. Very thin, watery almost, and a lighter red. I don't ever remember seeing this before.
I've been getting AF for over half my life now, I don't think it's ever stopped, and then restarted almost 3 days later. First thing I did this morning was POAS, negative HPT and negative OPK. I'm borderline worried...
I wish I had a definitive answer for you. I have had a cycle or two where my bleeding/spotting is very light or goes away and then returns to a more normal flow the next day. I am by no means an expert, but did you by chance BD around the time you had the watery like bleeding? I ask because aside from normal AF, if you BD'd your cervix could have been irritated from it and caused a little bit of bleeding.
I'm sure someone more well versed in these things will chime in. KUP
Thanks for the input! No BD since before AF. The bleeding seems to have slowed down, perhaps stopped now. It's just so weird, it was a totally regular cycle, regular AF that was apparently gone, and then one day of full flow after two days of nothing.
Not the cycle that passed, but the one before was about 50% longer than the usual.. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? Usually they're around 29-30 days, which the most recent one was, but the one before that was close to 45, also the only time in my life that my cycle went that long.
Life's been busy, I've been a little stressed... maybe that's what's going on? I know that stress affects everyone in different ways, usually it's a GI thing for me. I have my annual physical coming up in a month or so, going to have to start a list for the Dr!
Hmmm that is a bit unusual. I have mid-cycle spotting on a "fairly" regular basis now, and when I say "mid" cycle I don't necessarily mean the middle. I can get it on any day after AF has ended, then again around O time. It can vary in consistency and color, but it's always just a small amount, what would be considered spotting and not bleeding. I also usually spot for about 4 days on average leading up to AF. I've been told it's because of my age (I'm 43) and maybe a hormonal thing, but that wouldn't be an issue for you since you're only 25.
at the doctor. Hope he has some answers for you! KUP on what he says (I'm curious if he says it's something other than hormonal so that I'll know if mine could be something else).

Hmm. It's almost been a year since the last pap test, I'll be getting that done in June too.
Now that I think about it though.. I was in a car accident back at the end of Feb., no major injuries, but the impact must have jostled my organs around a bit. Within a couple of days, ovarian cysts that I didn't even know about ruptured. The ultrasound showed that there were more, and fluid in the area led them to believe that the ones that ruptured weren't small. Both cycles since the accident have been different.
Apparently I just needed to talk this out, I've got a good list of questions to bring up with my Dr. now.
Do you by chance have irregular cycles? Your lining could not be shedding completely and has built up more this cycle. I find taking provera to bring on a heavy AF helps. You well need an ultra sound to check it out so make sure you tell your Dr about the spotting.
Thanks for the tip, hoping4more! You're probably right, I did have one very irregular cycle, but it was the first time it was ever out of whack. I had an ultrasound recently (end of Feb), and the doctor didn't mention anything about lining, just that I have cysts. I'll ask him more when I go back in June though!
