Question of the Day (FRI June 8)

With Father's Day coming up in a little over a week, what do you plan to get for the fathers/FILs in your life?

My dad - he in the last stages of Alzheimer's and is in an ALH, so I haven't figured it out yet. Maybe some kind of homemade treat, since he loves sweets, but it will have to be easy to swallow since he's having a bit of trouble swallowing now. I won't bother with a card, though, because he wouldn't likely be able to read it anyway.

My DH - I'll have my DD do some kind of homemade gift, and I might try and put together a mini-album of any pics I have of just my DD and him together, from the time she was an infant until now, with a note inside it somewhere telling him how much I appreciate him being a good father to her.

My dad I'll get something for him when I visit at the end of June. He's one of the hardest people I know to shop for. One of my friends from pg.org is a photographer and has this great picture of an old church in the prairie and I was thinking of getting that for him for his church office (he's a pastor). He pastors in Montana now and was in North Dakota before then, so churches on the prairie are very fitting for him. Smile

For DH, I was saving to get him a kayak. He really wants one. But he got me a coffee mug for mother's day, so it seems kind of inappropriate. Then I wanted to get him these wireless headphones for when he's cleaning or working late at night and wants music without waking the kids. But, we live right next to a radio tower and it's affected every wireless thing we've tried to use so I don't think they will work.

I'll probably end up getting him a coffee mug.

LOL Elizabeth. Men are hard to buy for, aren't they? Of course, they would say the same thing, that we are hard to buy for. Ha. That's a great idea for your dad.
