I have a question about temping timing.
I normally take my temp at 5:30 am. This morning I woke up at 4 because I had to pee, I laid there for a minute debating on if I should take my temp or not since I wouldn't get 3 hours sleep before my alarm went off, I decided to take it anyway then I could get up to go to the bathroom. At 4am my temp was 36.35. I went back to sleep at woke at 9am (WAY past time to take it but lots of sleep between) and imediately took my temp to see if it was the same as before. It was 36.58! I have no idea which temp would be most accurate, since I got my temp spike yesterday I was hoping to see it stay up but now I have no idea what to think!
I usually use the earlier temp, but I don't know if that's the most accurate. For instance, two days ago I woke up at three and took my temp then and it was seriously low compared to my other temps. I'm hoping it was off because it was so early!

I checked FF and it said to use the best block of sleep, which would be the later temp, since we were up till after midnight and I laid awake for a while before I took my temp, I got a good 4 1/2 hours of sleep after that.
"f you have to get up in the night and it is unavoidable, like having to take care of a small child, or if you have to go to the bathroom, just do the best you can. While some women notice rocky temperatures when they wake during the night, some women notice little impact. Take your temperature as close as you can to the same time each morning and choose a time that is likely to be when you have had the most sleep. For example, if your toddler wakes up every morning at 6 am, then take your temperature at that time, even if you go back to sleep. Try to avoid taking your temperature in the middle of the night, though, even if you seem to always get up at the same time in the middle of the night. Temperatures taken in the morning show a clearer biphasic curve and the time is more predictable."
For now I'm using the later temp but made note that it wasn't at the normal time, I also noted the earlier temp. We'll see if it's up again tomorrow morning, if it stays up I'll keep the later temp I guess, if not I might switch to the earlier temp. When I went back to my chart I noticed I had 2 significant dips - both were from night waking and taken earlier than normal, even though it was after a good block of sleep.
Unfortunately no matter WHAT my chart looks like I can't MAKE my body have O'd so only time will tell but man is it ever frustrating!

Crystal, sorry your temp is messing with you like this. I wouldn't get too upset yet, though. Your temp might jump back up tomorrow. Sometimes you'll have a "fallback rise". Just go search FF for charts with "fallback rise" and you'll see bunch of charts with this pattern and 32% end in BFPs! I know how frustrating it is to have your body fake you out....mine does it to me all the time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your temp goes up nicely tomorrow!!

I so desperately want to O on my own and NOT have to wait to see the OB for tests before the fertility clinic...my friend has been waiting almost a year to see one (she's not TTC but they think she has endo, AND she has precancerous cells at her last Pap)...so I'm expecting to be in for a LOOOONNNG wait.
