AFM...

Hello gals,

I thought a thread for us to post what is happening in our worlds to update our friends if we've been out of the loop for a bit would be good.

AFM: Well back in March I was advised that the IUI we were doing with Clomid (100mg) was going to be the last one and that we’d have to move onto IVF – we got a BFN and after 50-something days (yes, I quit counting) I was prescribed Provera to kickstart AF. DH and I discussed it and we agreed that a break would do good as we’ve been on our TTC path for quite some time and it was 7 months straight of Clomid surging through my body making me the wicked witch of the west at times. Well – got the Provera Rx last week and started it and ended up having an allergic reaction to it – ha!ha! My eyes were swollen up and my ears were sticking out and the back of my neck was all puffed up – I looked quite funny. It’s the same reaction I get with bee stings so I took some antihistamines and after a half a day it was back to normal again (I have an epipen if it went worst). I was also advised when I got my Rx for Provera that my doc decided that we should try a couple more rounds of Clomid (150mg) with IUI the next couple months to see if we have some luck while we wait for our consult appt for IVF. She did not want to start on injections as I would have to wait out a month before staring the IVF program.
I’m going today for b/w for a full workup and tomorrow morning I’m going in for an AFC - next week is the SIS appt. I’ve never had either of them but was advised that it’s a lot easier than an HSG so I’m rather thankful for that. Sooo ya, that’s about it in my world.
Hope to hear about your “AFM”s Smile

Well my appt yesterday went fairly well -- looks like I have extremely cystic ovaries that they are estimating will either need to be removed or they will burst on their own in about 2-3 yrs. (my cousin had one burst and it was not fun she said)
They are not sure if they can proceed with IVF procedure but are going to review it further after the SIS and make a decision.
In the mean time, takin my monster pills and praying like crazy that some miracle will occur and we will be blessed with a BFP from our upcoming IUI

thanks Danielle -- I am praying and hopin that it works this time for you!! I'm quite excited for you!! Smile :bigarmhug:

So I just come from my appt (SIS) and talked to my RE - was advised that I am staying on the referral list to Calgary for IVF to proceed (with caution) :yahoo::yahoo: she was going to send all the test results down by the end of tomorrow.
So now it's a waiting game for them to call .... maybe we'll be lucky this month and the IUI next week will work (fingers crossed) - I was advised that this will be the last round of Clomid (thank goodness!) as she felt my body needs a break...hopefully the break will be from a BFP
