I have a consult with our RE for Clomid/IUI cycle next week.
Anything I should ask about that you wish you had known before going on Clomid
(or doing IUI)?
DH is still somewhat unconvinced about doing it, but he's willing to try for me. He believes it is going against nature/Darwin (he believes if we aren't meant to have kids evolutionarily, then we shouldn't force it).
I only get one shot at this as per DH and my agreement, so if there is anything you guys could suggest to ask or make sure gets done or...anything, please let me know!!
Welcome to clomid!! I hope it only takes one try for you guys!! Are they going to be doing any monitoring? I don't really have any suggestions about questions for the RE. I have been to two different clinics and they were both very different experiences.
KUP on how it goes and good luck this cycle!!
Welcome! I'm not on Clomid but I am on Femara which is like Clomid but with less side effects. I've not yet gone to an RE yet, my regular OBGYN is where I'm at at this point in the game.
I hope you see great results with the Clomid!
Thanks girls. It's a little nerve wracking doing this. Never thought I would have to. DH is more weirded out by it than I am. Not sure we will do next cycle since I am on night shift, so we might do it the one after which would be easier. We shall see.
Just wanted to say good luck on your Clomid/IUI cycle!
What dose are you on for Clomid? Clomid & IUI does work but your DH is going to have to be willing to give it more than one try. He's got the easy part of it all so hopefully he understands that. They tell you before you go for the IUI what his swimmers are at for that day (ie. mobility, amount, etc) so it will give you a good idea if you have a better chance or not with it.
G/L & KUP!
Thanks. I'll find out this afternoon about the dose of Clomid. Eek!
Sorry, this is going to be odd going in for this appointment!
Why will it be an odd appt ?
My DH has yet to come to an appt with me that does not include his swimmers - LOL!
They are very informative at the clinics (usually) and if you have any questions on anything - just ask here! I find that I learn more here prior to an appt about a procedure than when I am at the appt sometimes - I think it's because it's easier to ask here and get honest answers from others that have done it than it is to ask questions when you're all a bundle of nerves at the doctors. Then again it could be just me.
G/L - KUP please
Well, appointment went well. She wants to re-do some testing. Thank goodness we are in Canada and it's all covereded, except the second SA. It's been 1.5 years since the first SA and she want to make sure everything there is ok still before going further. I have to do CD3 testing next month (if I don't get preggers this month) so at earliest it will be two cycles from now before we do anything.
I like this RE much better. She is willing to do further testing if we want (lap if I want because she suspects mild endo). She is testing me a little more in depth for PCOS too. :)
