Getting ready to start round 1

So I FINALLY started AF yesterday. I know the 1st day of AF is considered CD1 but I start around 4 in the afternoon and realy only spotted yesterday. I didn't really have any light or even medium bleeding till early this very early this morning. Should I consider yesterday or today CD 1?

Also, the instructions from my dr are to do Femara CD3-7 then Estradiol 10-12 and then Prometrium after O. I'm confused about what the Estradiol does. Is anyone else on it? Is the Estradiol something I am supposed to take around O time or before O time?

Also, how quickly you tend to O on Femara or Clomid? My cycles have never really been the normal 28 day cycle. More like 30-31 days.

Thanks ladies!

Ok ladies, please correct me if I'm wrong but...

I'm pretty sure your OB wants you to take the Estradiol because its just estrogen and in the body the high levels of estrogen causes the endometrium within the uterus to become thicker and more supplied with blood. Its used to make a more happy environment for the little bean to attach to. Smile

Your body naturally increases estrogen prior to ovulation so your OB is trying to remind your body what its supposed to do. You're supposed to take it prior to ovulation like your natural cycle would increase the levels.

When I was on clomid, I ovulated around CD 17-19, depending on the cycle.

and BTW, I would count CD1 as the first day of actual bleeding.

I hope its a little more clearer to you and like I said, please correct me if I'm wrong!!! Good luck to you and hopefully you're journey is short!!!

CD 1 by definition is the first day of a full flow. So I would count today as day 1.
I have never taken estroidol, but I am surprised that with the Femera and estroidol that you are not going in for a day 12 ultrosound and at minimum having a HCG injection.
I did not repsond well to clomid but responded extremly well to femera, so much so my first ever cycle of it was cancelled becuase of the amount of follicles I grew. I ovulated on my own that cycle about day 16.

I am supposed to go in on CD 12 for a ultrasound. Forgot to mention that. He never mentioned anything about an injections. Should I ask about that? This is just my normal OB-GYN. I've not yet moved on to an infertility dr or anything.

The only thing I can help with on this is really the CD 1 issue. I have always been told to count CD 1 as the first day of flow not spotting.. Hope that helps...

Oh.. and I O'd on CD 18 both times I was on Clomid.... GL I hope your stay here is short!

It never hurts to ask your dr, but injections have increased risk over some of the other options (i.e. clomid, femera, etc), so often these aren't used until/unless the dr thinks it's necessary. Or at least that's been my (non-medical) experience.

When I'm on clomid, I tend to O btwn CD17-21, occasionally as late as CD23. I've started taking the clomid either on CD5 or on CD3 (different dr's = different instructions), but I haven't noticed a difference in when I O. My cycles were irregular before (didn't always O on my own & could be quite long). Clomid helped that, but also having my son did too. Now I'm on clomid for help with my lining, rather than to O. I've never taken Femera or Estradiol, so I'm not sure if they differ from Clomid.

Hope that helps & GL!
