OMG OMG OMG!!! I tested this morning and it was a BFP!!!! I'm in total shock!!! I keep looking at it to see if it is real.

I'm going in for a blood draw this morning to make sure my levels are ok. I'll have an ultrasound the week of March 8th. I'll write more later. Gotta go....

Not yet, but I'm supposed to. They do the labs right there in my RE's office. If I don't hear something today, I will call tomorrow morning. They aren't using the messaging system any more where we called into a recorded voice mail with a password. I guess they had problems with it. Now they have to call everybody back personally. Last night I got a call from my nurse at 5:45pm. I will be sure to update when I hear something. I'm dying though!

Christy, 375iu!! That's quiet an increase! Here's to hoping that it does the trick!

AFM, I had my u/s this morning and my left ovary has 2 small follies (under 10mm apparently), my lining is at 6.6mm, but they couldn't find my right ovary (trust me they tried! lol). So I was told to come back on Sunday, unless I get a phone call to tell me otherwise (if my E2 is high it could indicate there is something on my right ovary). Do you think they will increase my dose?

I was already taking 4 vials (300iu) last cycle and the start of this one... so I guess it's not really a huge increase... just seems like a lot of meds!

Have you heard from your Dr? My left ovary likes to hide... the nurse always has to "dig around" to find it. They always have though ~ I hope yours was just being shy and everything is OK!

Christy, My right ovary has a tendency to hide but can usually be found when they dig and press on my abdomen but no such luck today. Chances are there is nothing on there, or if there is, likely very small too.

I ended up calling the nurse myself this afternoon, yes I'm a tad impatient, lol! She said my E2 is low, less than 73, and that's exactly how my cycle last time started out! Which scares the heck out of me! I asked her about increasing my dose and she said to go ahead and increase to 150iu! That's double what I'm taking right now. I sure hope there is a significant increase by Sunday when I have a repeat u/s.

Jodi- I know that on my last cycle I didn't really start to show any growth until I was taking 150iu.. That's 2 vials, right? That's when it jumped from around 13 to almost 18 in about 2-3 days. Hopefully this will do the trick for you! Smile :goodluck:

Thank you all so much! I'm still in shock that this actually worked! My blood test came out "excellent" according to my RE. All the levels are perfect and they want me to have another draw next week since everything seems to be normal right now.

I am keeping tabs on each one of you and will continue to follow your journeys. :grouphug:

Great news! How many follies did you have again? Any chance of multiples?

:bigarmhug: I'm sorry. Do you just wait for AF now or do you need to go for a beta before you stop the prog.?

AFM ~ I went for bloodwork and u/s this morning. It seems that I'm not responding to the meds. like I have in the past. My lining was 10.6, I had a 13/14ish and a 10 on the right and nothing on the left. There seemed to be a couple more but they were too small to measure ~ maybe they'll grow in the next few days. My E2 was 36 to start and had only gone up to 78 after 5 days of stims. (I probably won't know what today's E2 is since I just listen to the tape...) The nurse said that they like to see a higher E2 number by now but said to not be too discourage because at least something is growing ~ sometimes people "take off" after a few more days. It only takes 1, it only takes , it only takes 1! (This is me trying to convince myself...)

I had 3 follies, but only 1 that was really big enough to work. (so yes, it only takes 1!) The nurse said from this initial bloodwork that it looks like I only have a singleton right now. We'll know for sure after my ultrasound the first week of March.

Kelli - I am so sorry for the BFN. I know how hard it is to see those. Hopefully this next cycle will work. :bigarmhug:

Jana - I am so excited for you!!! Will you move over to the IVF board or will you keep updating here. I want to follow the rest of your journey.

Christy- Don't get discouraged yet. Just remember how much difficulty I had with my last round. Granted it ended up not sticking, but it did work with just that one! :bigarmhug:

AFM- This cycle is really dragging out for me. I know all I can do is wait and try to stay busy, but it's just so aggravating! I think once I start this cycle, the next one will go by faster.

Just got back from my CD 3 ultrasound and I am good to go on my Follistim tonight! Yahoo I do have a question though. I was on Menopur at my last clinic and was put on 75 units and wasn't responding very well until they increased it to 150 units. This time around I am doing Follistim because my new dr said that since I have PCOS I do not need the extra LH that the Menopur has but he started me out at 75 units on that when he can see from my records that I didn't respond until I was taking 150 units of the Menopur. Any ideas? I just don't wanna stim forever!!!!

I don't have any experience with Menopur, but I know that with PCOS they want to start you off at a lower level. If they stim too fast you run a greater risk of having cysts from what I understand. I hope this works for you! :goodluck:

I don't know anything about these meds. either. Maybe you'll respond better since there's less LH?? It's times like these that we have to have faith in our RE's... You said he's awsome so I'm sure he knows what he's doing. When do you go back for b/w and u/s?

AFM ~ I will be stimming for 2 more nights and going back for bloodwork and u/s on Sunday morning.

I go back in on Tuesday for just an ultrasound (4 days of stimming). This clinic says it does more ultrasounds then bloodwork.

Coastieswife, That is true about Menopur (and Bravelle too I believe). I didn't respond well to Bravelle last cycle and ended up switching to Follistim in the end and was able to salvage it with 1 mature follie for my IUI. I have a good friend who also has PCOS and she's always responded well to Follistim. Her RE was away at the beginning of her last cycle and the other RE in the practice suggested they try Menopur... she ended up having her cycle cancelled due to no response. So all that being said, I think it's great you are on Follistim and will probably see a big difference in your response! All the best!

Christy, Sorry to hear you're not responding as well this time. I hope you get great news tomorrow!!

Kelli, I'm sorry about the bfn. Sad How many dpo are you?

I was just wondering if any of you temp while taking stims/trigger? I am just wondering if it will affect it. I realize that the ultrasounds and bloodwork show and tell me more than temps would but I just figured maybe it would show when I did O and help me keep track of when we BD....just a thought. Also, tomorrow I am CD5 is that too late to start temping because I didn't get a CD1 temp?

I've been temping for a while now and have always been able to see a pattern on my charts ~ even during inj. cycles. There's no reason you can't start on cd5... obviously you'll just not have the beginning of the cycle to refer to. Many woman skip the AF days anyway. I'm no expert but I may be able to help if you have any questions.

I went for my bloodwork and u/s this morning. My lining has actually gone down a little but it's still over 8 so I guess it's ok. I have a 16 on the rt and another under 10, and on the left I have a 10. Only that one follie seems to be doing anything... I'm frustrated. I was really hoping for at least 2 good follies!:( My last cycle was text book perfect and this time my response is less and slower. I have to wait until later (after bloodwork is back) for instructions but the nurse thought the Dr. will want me to stim another night and come back tomorrow.

Coastieswife, I don't temp during monitored cycles but many women do. I'm one of those women who never temped during af. I always took it as a break. So starting on cd5 won't be a problem.

Christy, I'm sorry your cycle isn't going as planned. :bigarmhug: It's still early, it's only cd11 for you. Hang in there!

I had b/w and u/s this morning too and it's slow and steady here too. I'm on cd13. My lining is at 7mm, I have a 11mm and a 13mm on my left ovary and this tech found my right ovary and said there was a very small follicle, less than 10mm though. So we'll see. I go back on Tuesday.

Thanks Danielle. It is what it is at this point... as long as it's a nice healthy follie, I'm good with it. I looked back at my other inj. cycles and the time I got pg. (that ended up being my 2nd m/c) I only had one good follie ~ it was quite similar to this cycle actually...

You're coming along Jodi! Sounds like you have a good shot at having 2 follies ~ I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I talked to my RE ~ I had to call since when I listened to the tape, I was pretty sure he mis-spoke. Turns out he did. He's giving me one more night and I go back for another u/s and bloodwork tomorrow morning. I'll likely be triggering tomorrow night and do the IUI on Weds.

Christy ~ I know you were hoping for more follies, but like you said... it only takes ONE!!! Good luck. Let us know how your scan goes today!

Jodi ~ Things are progressing nicely for you!! How many more days are you expecting to stim?

Coastieswife ~ I also temp while taking injections. Like Christy said, you can still see a pattern. I have found that the trigger shot causes my temp to spike, which totally made me worry that I had O'd too early and that my IUI was going to be worthless. I asked the RE about it and she said that it wasn't uncommon and relieved my concerns.

My scan went well - I got one of my favorite nurses so that's always a bonus. Biggrin I have a 18.5 and a 12 on the right and a 10 on the left. My lining is still the same as yesterday at 9.6 and my E2 (yesterday am) was 371. It's official, I trigger tonight and go in for IUI on Wednesday morning! **fingers crossed**

In other news.... My DH and I have been having some very serious talks about moving to IVF. We discussed it again over breakfast this morning and we've decided that IIIIFFFF we don't get a BFP this cycle, we're going to make an appointment for an IVF consult. We may still do one more IUI but sometimes it takes a while to get an appt. with my RE and we may have to update some of the testing. I feel like we've been running in a hamster wheel from cycle to cycle so planning the next step makes me feel like maybe I can get off this awful ride within the next year. Something to look forward to at least... and hopefully we won't even need to go there! Wink

Christy, I am so glad your follies grew some more! It won't hurt to at least have the IVF consult but I'm hoping that you get your sticky bfp in two weeks!! Smile

AFM, Not good news. Sad I got a call this morning from the nurse and apparently my E2 is still less than 73! They want me to stop doing injections so that I don't waste anymore on this cycle. I'm able to come in every few days if I want to for b/w and u/s to see what these 2 follicles do. If they continue to grow and mature I can still have my IUI. Seeing as I have Friday off work, I'm just going to wait until then. God only knows what will end up happening anyway! Plus we've got a storm coming and I'm not driving through that and sorting out who will help run my home day care while I'm gone. So Friday it is. I have an appt with my RE for the end of March. He wants me to have a test done to check for Cushing's Syndrome. The nurse said that even if I do have Cushing's, it's still only a peice of the puzzle. They just can't figure out what is happening to me. Before my lap in September my E2 was always super high! And since then it's dropped big time and they have a very hard time getting it to increase while stimming. I think even last cycle it barely got over 200 when I triggered. I'm beyond frustrated at this point!! Not sure what to do. Wondering if being on bcp's will help while I wait to cycle again.... There just aren't any answers.

Kelli, I'm sorry to hear about the cysts. But I've got to tell you that I know several people who were doing injections, that managed to get a BFP on their forced "break" cycles. It can still happen.

Jodi, I don't understand about the low E2. I know they told me that it's supposed to increase as the follies grow. But why would they cancel your injections because it's low? What's the correlation? Regardless, it sure does stink! :bigarmhug:

Christy, hopefully you'll get your BFP soon and won't have to go on to IVF. But it does feel good to have a plan of action, doesn't it?

AFM- I've convinced myself that our next round will work. There's just no way that it can't! I've decided that I'm going to keep this attitude the entire time. If I keep thinking that it might not work, and that I'll have to wait AGAIN to continue trying, I'll go insane.

SO... I'm saying it's going to happen in April. And that this is good, because I would really rather not have a baby around Christmas anyway. I wouldn't want him/her to feel like they're birthday got looked over because of the holidays. One of my brothers' birthday is Dec 20 and he has felt that way sometimes.... AND I won't be major prego during summer here in the humid south. I'll even have a chance to lose some baby weight before next summer.

Yep. It will work, and all will be great! Smile

Wink

Christy ~ Good luck with the IUI tomorrow... Remember, it only takes ONE good, healthy egg!!! I'm really hoping you get preggo this cycle and won't have to venture down the IVF road. It's nice to have a plan in place... just in case.

Jodi ~ Sorry aboutyour E2 level. I do wonder why it has all of a sudden dropped and not returned to normal. I really hope you have good news on Friday, even though they are taking your off the meds.

I went in for my CD3 u/s today and I have cysts so no injections this month. We will just be trying on our own.

Kelli ~ Sorry about the cysts. I've had them as well and know how disappointing it is. Did they put you on BCP's to shrink them? That is what they did for me and it worked.

Danielle ~ Great attitude! Maybe we'll both get BFP's in April and we'll share the December BB together! How great would that be?

AFM ~ I wasn't accepted into the Attain Refund program, but the Multi-Cycle program. I was pretty bummed all weekend, but have gotten over it. No sense in dwelling on something I cannot change. My DH's b/w came back yesterday and they started me on BCP's last night. I need for the IVF coordinator to call with my final consult date/time. It looks like I will be starting Lupron in 2 weeks. I won't know exact details until after my consult.

Ugh... I just got a date/time for my final IVF consult. It's not until March 16th. Seriously? That is a month away!!! It's not like I will even be able to try on my own because they have me on BCP's. Oh well.... looks like I just have to wait it out!

Jana-remember that Feb only has 28 days! lol Thought maybe that would help cheer ya up! Smile

I just got back from my CD 7 scan and I have a 7mm on the right and a 6.5mm and a 5.5mm on the left with a lining of 5. He said that we are going to stay on the same dose of 75 units of Follistim until Thursday and that we will know more then. I wonder how these sizes compare to some of you other ladies on here. He is taking the "slow and steady approach" due to PCOS. Just curious what you ladies numbers' were after 4 days of stimming.......?

This is right where I was at on my first round.

Danielle, that's cool! Did they use increasing doses for you? Or did you use Follistim? He didn't increase my dose, yet anyway, he is keeping me on 75 units.
