    Default Introduction and questions...

Hi everyone! I've been a lurker on a lot of the boards for about a year. My DH and I have just celebrated our 3rd anniversary and we have been TTC for 11 months. In 2008, I had an abnormal pap smear and had surgery to remove some early cancerous cells. The doctor advised me to wait on TTC for a year. The year finally passed, but my periods did not start once I came off of bcp. It seems like there have been lots of surprises during every cycle since then. Most recently, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I took Clomid 100 mg on days 3-7 last first month with no luck. This month, I took 150 mg on days 5-9. I went for a sonogram today (day 12) hoping that my follicles would be large enough to get my hcg injection tonight. The largest one measured 12mm so they scheduled me to come back on Thursday to see if the grow between now and then. Hopefully, I'm just ovulating a little late in my cycle. My estrogen was 248 today which they said was very good. We've had lots of issues lately so I'm just hopeful that Thursday we will get an even better report. What do you think about the estrogen levels? All of this can really make you a nervous wreck, ya know?

I wish you all luck this month. Praying for lots of BFPs!!!!!!!!

Hi Andrea, I am not sure about Estrogen levels as they are not checked routinely here unless you are doing IVF.
But I have had what you described happen to me, but I had even less of a follicle and was given another 5 days of clomid. It did the trick, but I did not concieve that cycle.
I hope that you have better luck on thursday.

    Hi Andrea,

I don't know about the Estrogen levels, but I wanted to wish you luck. I have PCOS too, and I do O on clomid, but I find it to be later in my cycle, so that's definitely not unheard of. When I first started clomid (when TTC#1), I O'd REALLY late for the first couple cycles, and then it started getting more "normal" around cycle #3.

Hope your visit today goes well, and KUP!

    Cool

The sonogram showed one follicle that had reached 18 mm so that was promising, but the next largest follicles measured 12 each. My estrogen was 278 and they had wanted it to be at least 300. The doctor said that the egg would drop because it had reached 18, but they didn't want me to take the trigger shot because it was so late in my cycle. She said that I could still definitely get pregnant this cycle, but they would try more aggressive measures next month (clomid 150 mg, follistim, and HCG injection) if this didn't work. Sounds like I'm officially in the 2ww...I hate the 2ww!

I just wanted to say I know all of this can be nerve wracking, and I'll send BFP vibes your way, so hopefully you won't have to worry about going through it all again.
