I had a quick question for you ladies. I had 2 rounds of Clomid to concieve my son after 10 months of TTC and 1 m/c with 2 d/c's. My husband and I are getting ready to try again in the new year, and we were both wondering if the doctor would prescribe Clomid up front, or if he would make us wait and try a while on our own before giving Clomid. I'm a teacher, so I'm trying to shoot for a spring/summer baby, so if he'll give it to us right away, it will make a difference as to when we start trying. TIA for any replies.
Because I have PCOS and have had tests done in the past that showed some problems with ovulating I was prescribed Clomid right away. DH and I have been trying for 6 months and have been on the Clomid for 3. It may depend on your doctor. Personally I don't see what the problem would be with giving it to you upfront if you've had it before and they know you probably needed it and that it worked for you. I would maybe just tell them you needed it to get pregnant last time and that you have a history of m/c and hopefully they'll go ahead and give it to you. I understand the window of opportunity and wanting a spring/summer baby. I'm a teacher too and we were aiming for summer as well. Still don't know if it'll happen yet but we're hoping. Good luck to you! I hope it all works for you very quickly this time around!
Thanks for the responses. I am hoping that when we do start trying, it is not as long of a process as it was this last time around. My heart hurts for anyone who has to endure such a long struggle TTC. It is awful Thanks again for the replies!
Holly, I would guess since you have used it before that if you tell your doc you are ready to try again, then he/she will prescribe it w/o making you try a little on your own first.
