...And my GYN couldn't find a darn thing. He didn't even locate my ovaries. He said it was probably because there were no follies in there otherwise he'd see the follies. I was a little confused by this since I have PCOS and tend to have cysts on my ovaries and have never had a problem with finding my ovaries before because of the cysts. Anyways, he told me he didn't think I would O this month and to start 5 mg of Femara next cycle but on CD 1-5 instead of CD 3-7. I've never heard of this and mostly what I've read, you either do it CD 3-7 or CD 5-9.
Anyway, hopefully doubling my dose will get me to O!
What?? He couldn't find your ovaries?? I hope this doesn't come off wrong, but thats absurd!!
I actually would consider getting a second opinion. Your gyn was doing the actual u/s as opposed to an u/s tech? Maybe you can request a tech (someone who does it all day everday) cause I've never heard of that... especially if you have never had problems before.
I'm sorry if I sound brash, I just can't imagine him having a hard time finding them, follicles or not. I know that doubling my dose of femara this month made a big difference so I hope it does the trick for you!!
Yeah, I thought it sounded a bit absurd myself. My guess is he was in a rush. I'm not yet going to an infertility doctor yet, he's just an OBGYN and his main speciality is OB. His waiting room is always full of pg ladies. So someone like me who is trying to get pg is really the least of his worries. I don't know when he'll refer me to an infertility dr. I'm guessing once my rx of Femara runs out or something. We didn't really discuss that. If I go in next time and get the same result I did this time then I'll find someone else. I was actually referred to him by my endo. that I see for my PCOS.
I guess it is still possible I will O this month. I mean he never found my ovaries to determine if there was anything in there. On that note, I started taking Estradiol yesterday and took it again today and will also tomorrow. I'm having some serious EWCM but I think that's because of the estrogen. He did say the lining of my uterus looked good and thick so that's nice.
I guess we'll see what my temps do in a bit.
May I ask what kind of u/s did he do?? If he did an external u/s than it is believable that he could not find the ovaries. But on an internal, not so. I can find my ovaries on an internal scan!! The ovaries are visiable even if there are no follicles on them!
