Cloth Diapers in Daycare

No, I'm not suddenly putting DS in daycare. Blum 3 I ran across this link and thought it might help encourage others with CDing at daycare. I know a few of the ladies here do it successfully. Smile

Ah, that's why my NAEYC accredited daycare requires a doctor's note! I thought it was rather silly. I found it's more often the management who doesn't want to accept cloth, which is odd because they're not the ones changing the diapers. Every teacher I've spoken with said they'd do whatever we wanted.

Yeah--I actually asked Lyn about that straight out and she told me it was a NAEYC state requirement. I don't know why THAT is, though. Seems really pointless. Either accept them or don't! (But...do.)

As someone who used to work with NAEYC accredited centers, NAEYC is a PITA at times. The amount of paperwork and and junk a center has to wade through is ridiculous. I went through their sister program to do school age accreditation the last year I was in Vegas and OMG! I felt like they made up stuff just to keep you frustrated. It really is a sense of accomplishment of huge proportions to be a NAEYC accredited center. I can't say I'm surprised about the doctor's note. Just a drop in the bucket of stuff we had to provide!

I was actually surprised when I spoke to centers here and they told me they had to use what a parent requested bso long as the parent supplied it ( one center we looked at supplied nappies).

Not going to lie... cloth diapering was a huge factor in why we chose in-home care for our DD. That and the fact that it is only her and another baby every day.
