Diaper bag

Anyone with suggestions on a diaperbag? Also what do I do with poopy diapers and the diaper bag?

You should get a little wet bag for your diaper bag. I have a little PlanetWise wet bag that has held up great and works like a charm. Having two makes life a little easier. That way you can always just wash one on wash day and alternate. What kind of diaper bag you need really depends on you. I tend to carry waaay more stuff than my mom friends. So, I have a giant bag. We've also been using primary prefolds which take up a little more room than other types of CDs. I'm currently using a Go GaGa bag. Aside from being a bit too big now that DD only needs about 1 diaper for most trips, its a great bag. I started with a Skip Hop bag and I hated that thing. It was way too small for all the things I needed for a newborn plus CDs and it started falling apart after about a month.

In general, pick what sort of bag works for you and keep in mind that you should probably err on the side of having one that's a little larger due to the added bulk of the CDs. Lots of moms I know just use backpacks or some cute little bag. I'd probably have a backpack if I wasn't always already wearing a backpack for school.

Yep, wet bags for the dirty diapers! I have a small Planet Wise bag that works for 1 sometimes 2 diapers. I have a medium Bummis bag, but I don't like it. Good size, but love Planet Wise A LOT more. When in doubt, I say start off with at least 1 medium wet bag. Smile

As far as diaper bags go I'm the exact opposite of Erin. I can't figure out for the life of me how she fills up that big bag and she can't figure out how I get by with just a regular purse even with CDing. Granted it's a larger sized purse, but still just a purse. lol.

Yep, I have a waterproof and washable bag for the dirty diapers. They are not hard to find.

I use a regular diaper bag. Mine is always full Wink with blankets, diapers, outfit change, my billfold, wipes container, etc.

Thank you so much! Also what do I do to keep the bag from stinking? And where do you find your wet bags?

I keep my diaper bag wet bag zipped when it has diapers in it and then I let it air out at home between trips. For my big wet bag at home, I leave the top open. That actually helps a lot to eliminate stinks.

I've had to purchase most of my CD supplies on-line. Some cities have CD stores but many don't. We have a really cute store but they don't sell things like wet bags and detergent. I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon and I get my prefolds and a few other things from Green Mountain. I've also bought things off Craigslist and from moms I know from baby groups. About half my stash is used.

I would like to third the PlanetWise wetbag suggestion. They are great, easy to just throw in with a load of diapers, and my larger diaper bag never stank. In a pinch, I also would just use old grocery store plastic bags if I forgot my PlanetWise bag or it was too dirty (two so you can swap them out is a good idea)

I'm one that always has a full bag AND a purse, but I don't use any particular diaper bag. I have a lot of big bags and I just pick a cute one of the right size and use it for a while and then switch to another when I get bored. As long as there's one little pocket to put particularly small things, I never found I needed one million different dividers and sections. In fact when I use those kinds of bags I spend more time opening zippers trying to remember where I put whatever I'm looking for Smile

I too love my Planet Wise bags! Target does sell a munchkin brand wetbag though, in the store by me it's in the same isle as the bath stuff/bottles/pacifiers, right by the travel changing bags and stuff.
I've never had a problem with it smelling, though we're not usually out of the house long and when we get home I take care of the diaper and put it in our big wet bag.

As far as what kind...that's about as personal as purses are. Even with cloth diapers I do not like carrying a big bag. I carry 2 diapers for the baby, 1 for my toddler, wipes, a wetbag, my wallet, a burp rag, change of clothes for the baby, bib, hand sanitizer, and baby nail clippers in my bag and it's still fairly small.

I buy ALL of my CDing stuff online. There's nothing in Del Rio. Heck, all we've got really is Walmart and Ross. High class city. Blum 3

I have that munchkin wet bag mandi mentioned. It's nice. It will only fit 1 one size bumgenius diaper. I don't know about small sizes like PF and cover. I haven't been out long enough to have to put a dirty diaper in there. If I end up using it I just grow it in the next diaper load.

As far as a diaper bag lately my MIL gave me a large purse for my birthday and it works pretty nicely as a diaper bag. I don't carry much. I have some things (extra outfit spare diaper plastic shopping bag) in my car JIC. But with having a newborn again I'll probably be carrying more.
