Okay, so I don't know if I'm dumb or what.
I went to a lot of trouble to buy micro fleece and make inserts for my diapers so that I could use regular diaper cream. Natalie had/has open soars from diaper rash so it is imperative that we use a good cream to coat or go back to disposables. I've been using the inserts and it was going well until I started having some leak issues and realized my diapers are completely coated in a film.
Thinking about it, I realize it is from the wash machine and washing the inserts with the diapers. Was I not supposed to do this? Sigh. I'm working to strip them now, but any advice would be wonderful!!!!!
I've never used liners with diaper cream but if I did, I'd use disposable liners or wash them by hand. If you wash them with your diapers its not much better than not using them at all. If you wash them in your washer separately you're coating your machine with the cream.
Have you used a CD friendly cream and found it not to work?
Not yet, I just wanted a cream like triple paste that really sticks and coats vs just soothing then easily rubbing off.

I just recently heard that it seems to work best to hand wash the inserts so the gunk doesn't get stuck in your washer or to use disposable. :(
I'd buy some CD safe cream and see if it helps at all. You can still coat that stuff on pretty well if needed.
I had my doubts about CD safe cream. Let me tell you though, Angel Baby Bottom Balm works really really well. Unless its a pretty bad rash, which I've never experienced because it clears it up before it gets bad. It's worth a shot to try.
My daughter gets raw sores on her bum (due to food allergies) and I've had success with Baby Bottom Better. It works amazingly well and is CD friendly.
I cannot recommend CJs BUTTer highly enough. It's magic and you can use it on sunburn, scrapes, etc.
Yeah, you can't wash the liners w/ the dipes, as it defeats the purpose of the liners. Stripping sux. Sorry!
You know, I use fleece inserts and don't usually have a problem w/ my diapers wicking or it getting on them. Hmm...
But I like Angel Baby and I have the CJ's BUTTer spray which works pretty well too.
