Thread: Do you think it's possible my diapers are beyond hope?

I tried to put her in a prefold today, and she hated it. She was saying it was hurting, and made me take it off right away. I don't think it was really hurting her, but it was just too bulky. Even after just that today, I have a hard time seeing us going back to prefolds. That said though, I might try to sell this lot, and see if maybe I can get a slightly bigger (but not as big as these!) size of prefolds (maybe the GMDs) to use with the next baby- and this time I would go straight from one size of pfs to the next...

Our diaper pail is a trash can that has a press down lid (like you press it to open and press it to shut it)- and we use a pail liner. So it's not air tight- I think it gets some flow- but, obviously it's not open. I have been washing every 2-3, maybe 4 days. You know what is slowing down my washing? THE DRYER! Back in Laos, I HAVE to wash every other day, so that by the time I run out of diapers the washed ones are dry. But here, my diapers are washed and dried in one day- a matter of hours even! I forgot how easy it is! It's awesome! (I'm not a person who has a hard time with laundry in the first place, but I honestly don't understand how anyone with a dryer can complain about laundry...unless maybe you have like 10 kids...but that is another post... )

I'll keep going with the cloth during the day and sposies at night- we'll see how the stink goes. Her rash is gone, as long as she wears the sposie at night.

ETA: The only thing I feel like I haven't tried is to use the fish-tank ammonia remover. Has anyone ever done that? RLR?

Yeah, it's hard to go back. I tried to give my night cloth diapers to my niece who was mostly PT'd but having night issues, but she wouldn't tolerate them--just too bulky when you're not used to it. Glad at least the rash is under control!
