Hello!

I'm Tina, expecting baby #6 in Sept. I have never used cd's for my own babies, but have for a couple babies in my daycare over the years. I honestly was not even considering it this time until today. I checked out a diaper store/service just up the road from me. They offer a service where they provide everything, wash everything, and even deliver for only $20/week! If you choose to skip the delivery and exchange your diapers in store, you get a $3/week discount. AND, if baby is not potty trained by their 2nd birthday, your service is FREE until they are! I am so sold on this now, but my fiance is not... he says he will never shake the solids out of a diaper. That seems to be his only complaint about them.
Is this a good price? If we do it, I'd have to be willing to shake out the diapers he changes. That seems doable to me considering my ex changed very few of our 5 babies diapers, lol.

I have no idea about diaper service prices, but with exclusively BF babies you don't have to do anything with their poop. It's completely washable. Smile

That's what I said to Jason! Smile I told him we had nothing to worry about for about a year. I don't start any solids with my babies until 9-10mos. Even if we tried to shake something out, it wouldn't go. haha

That's about equivalent to what I paid for my service. Having a service is great! Like Jackie said, you won't have to worry about poop until baby starts solids and by then its not like they're going 100 times per day. If your DH isn't sold on them by then he can just leave them on the change table for you to do later (though according to my DH that's awfully sissy of him ;)).

OMG, I see you're in MN... are you talking about All Things Diapers? I just went there for the first time last week to check it out! I live just down the street from there, too!!!!!!!!! If you are talking about All Things Diapers, we must be super close to each other! I have never CD'd before, either, but I am planning to with this one.

I just think that running into someone THAT close to me on here, who is in the SAME boat, is crazy! LOL

It IS crazy, but not unheard of...Erin (Tigger'sMommy) and I were at the same birth center, but we met on here while both pg with our firsts Smile Now we are IRL friends and our DDs are in the same preschool class together Smile Go, internet! (Erin, didn't you meet somebody else on here too? Sarah?)

I like the husband Jason coincidence, too, though, ha Biggrin

I ended up delivering my first with a midwife that came recommended by someone I met on pg.org! And I loved her! I never met that pg.org member in real life though- we didn't end up sharing a board, so didn't get that close. And I know there is (at least) one other person from my hometown on here too...I was definitely surprised to my town listed as her location! It's a small world!

Actually, I've met quite a few people from preg.org IRL who lived in my area... but never one who lived in the same town and was pregnant with me at the same time... LOL

Yep, I've met one other PG.org mama who I'm now IRL friends with. I guess its not odd for crunchy Tucson but I think I've lucked out that the two mamas I've met from here are both BWing, CDing, BFing (not to mention awesome friends and totally cool) mamas.

Can we say hijack? LOL.

Totally, sorry Wink

Getting back to the original post: I agree both that BF baby poop is no issue at all, and that getting DHs to see it as a challenge is a good way to get them involved. Mine was INCENSED when I told him about "daddy diapers" (i.e. some people get AIOs because they're easier for men to deal with) and took it as an insult to his gender to assume he wouldn't/couldn't CD with the best of them. Lol

Yes!!??! That is crazy! I'm like 2 miles south of the store. At first glance, it seems we have a lot in common. Smile Did you grow up in the area?

I love the thread hijack! I actually came across someone I went to elementary school with on pg.org a few years ago. We haven't met up or anything (yet!), but we're both now due in Sept, so have been talking a lot more, recently. It really amazes me how small the world is sometimes. Smile

I did grow up in the area - I graduated from BHS! You?

And I notice you have elementary age kids (well, from appearance in your pic, anyway!) - where do they go to school?

Awesome.

I'm going to guess we're only about a mile apart.

I went to BHS for my freshman year, class of 96'.

I'm going to try to remember how to pm, and give you my email addy before internet creepers figure out all our personal info from this one thread, haha!

Cool, that you are so close to each other!

As for CDs, my DH wasn't thrilled about CD and complained for months about it. (He felt it was too much extra work for me. )
Anyway, I still occasionally find some diapers that were never shaken into the toilet, but they still fall into the toilet just fine when I find them prior to throwing them into wash machine. Luckily, DD's poo is relatively solid, it might be a little harder with runny poo.
