Homemade Laundry Detergent?

Hey everybody. I lurk on here a lot, and I have posted a few times, and I have a question. My current laundry detergent for diapers (and everything else) is Charlie's Soap. I love it, except for the fact that I have to order it online, no one around here sells it retail. i have a friend who has offered to teach me to make homemade laundry detergent, which winds up being way easier and cheaper than anything else. My main concern, of course, is will it be ok for the diapers? I know that the only ingredients in the detergent are borax, washing soda, and original Ivory Bar soap.

I know that actual soap soap is not good for diapers, but I also know that things called "soap" aren't always soap (for example Charlie's Soap is a detergent, not soap). So my question is, do any of you know if the Ivory soap will be ok for the diapers? And if not, would it be possible to substitute something else?

Thanks in advance!

I've heard that just washing soda and borax are okay on diapers and will clean them (really dependent on your water, heard it's not very useful if you have hard water). No need to add the Ivory soap. If it works on diapers then I'm sure it works fine on clothes. You should be able to find more information on diaper swappers because I think that's where I ran across this stuff first a few months ago.
