So, here's what I bought so far (second-hand):
2 Grovia Shells
The BG and the Kawaii are pocket diapers. I'm assuming I can use pre-folds with the Grovia shells? I also have 12 coming from Sunbaby...hopefully this week. So, what else should I add to get me started? Any suggestions? I want to start out with several different kinds before I choose one to stock up on. I will probably get some pre-folds and a few other covers, but I figured pockets would be easiest for DH and daycare. I have time...baby won't be here until December.
The Kawaii looks like a cover to me (I have a Kawaii cover that looks exactly like that), but I could be wrong! Obviously you'd know best! lol
Definitely pick up some prefolds and snappis.
If you're looking for easy diaper, maybe an AIO.
Keep an eye out on the day a deal sites because they're always posting great deals on good name brand diapers!
Covers don't have the pocket. You don't want to put micofleece against the baby directly, so there's a inner white pocket to stuff them into.

Wow! Great list! Thanks
I was thinking the Kawaii looked like a cover too. Does it have a layer of suedecloth or fleece inside?
Did the GroVia hybrids come with soaker pads? I've only used their AIO's so I'm not familiar with the hybrids. I don't see why you couldn't use it as a cover if you don't have a soaker pad snapped in.
Have you talked to any daycare centers about the cloth diapers? They may only allow certain types so I would check to to be sure. I figure if a day care center is cloth diaper friendly then they would allow pockets, AIO's or AI2's.
It sounds like you have a good start but you may want to look into getting some X-small sizes for your newborn. The OS diapers tend to be too big for most newborns. You could get some X-small Fuzzi Bunz or you could do prefolds and covers. I know a lot of mamas like prefolds for the early days of cloth diapering. Our little girl came early so she was tiny for a while. We ended up using sposies until she grew into our small FB's around 6 weeks. The OS BG's fit her by that time too but they were pretty bulky.
In addition to the diapers, you may want to start looking for:
A large wetbag to put into a 13 gallon trash can
Smaller wetbag(s) for outings
Cloth wipes (we use cheap baby washcloths)
In my stash, I have 21 pocket diapers and 6 prefolds with 2 covers. With my newborn, I do laundry every 2 days but could make it 3 in a pinch. Thus, I think you are doing great on your stash.
I made about 50 wipes with flannel, cheap and easy, or you can buy cheap clothes. I keep them in a wipe warmer with water and a couple drops of tea tree oil.
I have a diaper pail rather than bag, just like pail because easier for me. I do have a diaper bag for on-the-go though.
Are you going to use diaper-friendly rash cream? If so, don't forget to get it ahead of time. If not, you will need inserts to protect diapers from other rash creams.
I'd get some prefolds and xs/s covers for those first few weeks! Also a large wetbag or 2 for dirty diapers. It's nice to have a clean one for when the other one is drying.
Now that you mention it, I think the Grovia covers did come with the soakers. I have two larger inserts that have snaps on them, so I think they might go with the covers.
I believe the GroVias that you have come with one soaker pad but you can buy more. That way you can replace the soaker and reuse the cover when you change your LO. If you have some prefolds then you could try using those instead and see how it works. I am guessing you could probably find prefolds for cheaper than the soaker pads?
