newbie here....

I bought some Mabu cloth diapers at Wal Mart... They was relatively inexpensive and seemed nicely made so I thought we'd give them a try. I've always wanted to try cloth but just get overwhelmed by it all. Anyway, the plastic and outer cover is usually damp when I change dd, so instead of just replacing the insert I have to change the whole diaper... is this common or are they just not very absorbent? She hasn't ever leaked all the way through it's just damp. Should I strip them will that help? I might order different ones on line, I just got these because like I said price & convenience. Thanks Smile

Do you mean the inside of the waterproof cover? I haven't seen these diapers at Walmart yet and I've seen mixed reviews on them. If it is the inside of the cover, just wipe it off with a wet wipe and use again.

It's not uncommon for covers to get damp. I usually just wipe off the cover if it's damp and use a 2nd cover. Next change I wipe the 2nd cover and put on the 1st cover. If the cover is actually wet in the inside, probably not enough absorption for you at this point. Some kids pee more at once than others. You could then try doubling up their inserts or use a prefold with the cover.

I haven't heard of these, so had to google them. Interesting that some walmarts are carrying these now.

Thanks ladies, yeah it's just kinda damp feeling and stinks a bit like pee So I've been hand washing them since we only have two complete sets.... I put one of the disposable pads on her this time to see if it made any difference and I will try a prefold in there too thanks! I'm excited about entering the cloth world!!! lol
