Default One of my worst fears...

... some of my diapers are starting to stink as soon as DS pees in them! The bamboo and bamboo inserts to be exact... would be my favorite ones! HELP!

I think its time you tried stripping them. It worked like a charm for me this week. This is all I did:
Split stash in half & do two loads (I figured lower volume would decrease risk of overflowing the washer with suds)
1 x Cold cycle as usual
Add ~ 1.5 tbs blue Dawn
4 x Hot cycle (or until you don't see bubbles sticking around during the wash cycle)
    Done!

No more stinkies! You might want to turn your water heater up to get the wash water really hot. If you don't have a toploading machine, you might have to do something a little differently.

I agree with stripping them. I will say that when I used some other detergents I had stink problems frequently. If your detergent works well for you otherwise I'd keep at it for now but if it starts to be a problem you might want to look into switching. Since I switched to Rockin Green and added an additional rinse to my wash routine I haven't had any stink issues.

    I agree on stripping.

I rinse, then wash/rinse with regular detergent then wash/rinse with a Tbsp of blue Dawn. I have a top loader, it works great for us.

Turning up the temp on your water heater may also be a good idea if you have it set lower for safety reasons. I've read that regular detergents do not actually kill bacteria. They can wash them out but doesn't get it all. Therefore, hotter water will help with this issue as well as the blue Dawn.

I'd also like to add that we use Rockin' Green and this is the first time I've had to strip my diapers. DD's been in the current stash for 9 months.

Do I need to reboil the inserts after stripping them? They feel so much cleaner and softer.
