Default Pocket dipes similar to Bumgenius 4.0

ok - so i have been CD's part time for only a few days now.... I motsly use prefolds and covers and i have 2 bumgeniues 4.0 pocket diapers - those are totally my fav! I love the material and DS doesn't feel wet so they iritate him less also they seem to fit him really well - so I bought 6 more today (buy 5 get 1 free!) from cotton babies - but only complaint is that they mostly have solid colors and i LOVE the fancy prints - does anyone know of a similar fabric diaper to bumgenius that also comes in print styles????

I haven't actually used BG, but I've played around with them. Other pocket diapers that I enjoy and some even like more than BG are Kawaii, Sunbaby, and Blueberry. Sunbabies have two one sizes - 1s are small for a OS pocket and 2s are almost as big as a Kawaii. They also have the option of micofiber, bamboo, and combo inserts. Kawaii is known for having a high rise and being a bigger OS diaper. They can be found in both micofiber and bamboo inserts. Blueberry has a bunch of different diapers, but they do have pockets which while not the highest rise when let out all the way is definitely a bigger OS diaper. They come with microfiber inserts, but there are really nice bamboo ones you can buy too.
I know Beccasweet has a few fuzzibunz but said that she wouldn't buy anymore of them, opting instead for cheaper pockets since the cheaper ones work just as well if not better.
And there are more, those are just what I've had some kind of experience with.

I haven't tried a bunch of types. WE have BG 4.0, Fuzzibunz and prefolds with thirsties covers. BG are my favorite. We have 20 of them! I don't really like the fuzzibunz, I just can't get them to fit right so that they don't leak. I've always wanted to try the sunbaby with the cool prints but couldn't justify the purchase since I already have so many diapers.

I have a BG, a FB, a Rumparooz, a Kawaii and a bunch of Sunbabies. The Rumparooz is the smallest of all of them, Kawaii is the largest.

Are you talking about the inside fabric that touches the baby's skin? BG def. feels different than all of the others listed above, but I'd say Sunbabies is the closest to BG as far as how smooth the fabric on the inside is.

I have more Sunbabies than anything (24 of them) and I ain't gonna lie...I like the price. But seriously, they fit my baby much better than the BGs I have. I find that the BGs are really wide in the crotch, though they do seem to be fitting her better now that she has grown a little. I have one kawaii pocket and I can't say I love it or hate it. The opening for the pocket is in the front and I find that a bit awkward to put on, but the diaper itself is fine.

Yeah, I agree with Carrie that the crotch is wider on the BG than Sunbabies which can be an issue with a smaller baby which is what I have.

Look for a diaper called Baby Wizard. They are made in China, and can be hard to get here in N. America, but I hear they are almost identical to BG's, and they come in prints. If you can find a co-op running them they are about half the price, but you can find some in Hyena Cart stores that run about the same as BGs. Here is a link to a HC store selling them, I love some of the prints, and they do come in snaps and velcro, like I said its juts a matter of finding sites that sell them, they don't have an official NA retailer yet. And here is the link to their official Malaysian website, just so you can see the different styles they make.

The PUL? Most pocket diapers use that if they're not minky (fuzzy outside) or don't say "laminated." There are a couple of other materials out there that WAHMs use, but most big company diapers are PUL or laminated minky. As long as the diaper has been sewn correctly, PUL is a great water barrier (which is why a completely saturated diaper will often leak out the top or at the legs since it can't go through the PUL).

I love minky though. I love the soft fuzz since I don't put pants on my child unless we're leaving the house (it's hard to find pants that fit my son, so we don't own many lol).
