Default Question on new Sunbaby inserts

The newest release of Sunbaby diapers has Microfiber, Bamboo, or Blend (2 layer bamboo inside and microfiber outside) as insert options but you can't mix and match. I know some of you got these with your last Sunbaby purchase. Which did you like best?

If you've had another brand's insert that was a similar blend, I'd love to hear your input too. I'm intrigued by the blend option.

I am a little confused by this, but I will give you my best guess. With my last order, she was substituting bamboo for some of the microfiber (for the same price), I'm guessing so that people could try them out to see how they liked them. I ordered 12 diapers and she sent me 8 microfiber inserts and 4 bamboo inserts but I was really confused because 2 of the bamboo inserts were thick and 2 were very thin. Now I am hearing about the blend inserts and I am thinking that the thicker ones she sent me are the blend inserts and the thinner ones are the bamboo. If that is the case, then the blend inserts can be used on their own, just like a microfiber insert. The thinner bamboo inserts would be best used as a doubler. I don't think they would be very effective on their own. I have used the thinner bamboo insert with a hemp insert and that worked pretty well together. The thicker blend inserts absorb pretty well, but the material inside has kind of bunched up a little. It's not really a big deal, but just something I noticed. If you remind me, I can try to post a picture of the two so you can see the difference. Right now they are safely locked away in Evelyn's room and she is asleep in there, so I am not going to press my luck, if you know what I mean?! Hope this helped a little.

Interesting info Carrie! I was thinking about trying sun babies with the new baby since they now have bamboo as an option. My Kawaii bamboo inserts work great just by themselves (once fully prepped). I'd hate to get bamboo inserts that don't work well. :-/

Honestly, I don't have a lot of experience with bamboo, so I am not sure how well each bamboo insert would work on its own. They are very thin, so I am kind of assuming that they wouldn't hold much, but I don't know that for sure because I haven't tried it. I bought a bunch of hempbabies inserts and all the reviews I read boasted about how absorbent hemp is and DH put one in her diaper by itself one night and she leaked to the point that her entire body was wet and cold in the middle of the night...poor thing! So I guess the thinness of the bamboo insert just made me think that it wouldn't work well on its own. Hmm...maybe I will try it out just to see. So far I have only used them in combination with another insert.

Bamboo inserts are thinner than their microfiber counterparts. DS's day diapers are just a single Kawaii bamboo insert usually. At night we do two bamboo and one hemp.

I could send you one to try but this time you might have to give it back

Ha ha! I'm sure by the time I'd need to buy some there will be more reviews. Like yours.

Ok, I am adding a few pics. Hopefully, they will help.

So, if I am correct the bamboo insert is on the left and the blend is on the right. You can kind of see how it's a little bit bunched up.
    Comparison: Bamboo vs. Blend?

Difference in thickness (if you can see it):

Interesting. My order of 12 came with 6 MF and 6 what I think are the blend. I've used just the blend by itself in Olivia's diapers and had no leaks. Then again, I've never had a leak....

    Adorable pic Carrie!
