What kind of rash cream does everyone use?
My DD has bad rashes all of the time. Currently we use angel baby balm stuff and we have use Burt's bee baby stuff with a liner because it's not cloth diaper safe.
I want to find something that works better than the angel stuff and doesn't require a liner, any thoughts?
We've had great luck with CJs BUTTer. My husband calls it the miracle in a jar. Apparently coconut oil does well for many too though I've never used it.
What kind of rashes though? From poop? From being wet for awhile? Is she in pocket/AIOs mostly or prefolds/flats/fitteds?
Angel Baby does work for many which has me curious why she's having issues.
I'm wondering the same thing. Angel Baby is good stuff...My DD had bad diaper rashes all the time that turned out to be food allergy (mainly acidic fruits--strawberries, tomatoes, papaya, etc), but that only got really bad once she was eating the food directly (not when she was EBF). Still, you might consider that as a source.

Even better, if you have prefolds, lay out a few of them on the floor and let her have some diaper free time as often as you can manage. Even just ten minutes once or twice a day can make a big difference.
(Oh, and just a word of warning--don't be tempted to use non CD safe cream. Even with liners, it gunked up my diapers over time, since occasionally a liner would get into the wash, or the liner would move and some would get on there...I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but boy did I pay for it in the end.)
The diaper rash salve from Northern Essence is by far my favorite rash treatment. Diaper Care
We've never had any problems with using it with cloth and just works so much better than some of the commercial stuff anyway. :)
Then again, I'm also a huge fan of their soap and wool wash so perhaps I'm a bit biased. :P
We use CJ's BUTTer too. It works for most of our rashes. One time, I tried everything under the sun. Desitin, Boudreaux's Butt Paste, Dr. Smith's, A&D and maybe one other? I finally went back to CJ's and it cleared up. I will say that we had a rash that lasted 6 weeks with our newborn and it took Triple Paste AF to get rid of it b/c we needed a serious barrier cream but that was an exception.
I'm with the other ladies in wondering what the actual cause is. My first DD is very sensitive to certain foods.
It has been clearing up, so that's good. We have continued to use only Angel Baby Bottom and it does seem to be helping.
I think the cause are foods that I am eating. She doesn't have an allergy ring, but I think they just make her poops more (something) that winds up being irritable to her little bottom.
She has also started not needing a change the first time she wakes at night (I check every time and she has been dry for a week or two now) and that has seemed to help immensely. She still needs to be changed at subsequent wakings, but that longer time of being dryer has helped.
Thank you guys for your advice!
Glad to hear it's improving! :)
Yes, that's great! I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's just sensitive skin. Hopefully the extra dry time will help enough, and if not you can always do a little elimination trial on the usual suspects. But hopefully it won't come to that.
