Red marks from overly tight fit??

I am just starting to get into using my cloth diapers after a couple weeks of recovery from birth where laundry was the last thing I wanted to do, haha. So I am using disposables part time, especially overnight. When I do use cloth, I notice that my LO's thighs and waist get terrible red marks from the fit being really tight. She gets those a bit in the disposables too, but it seems particularly bad with the cloth. I am using hemp fitteds that are supposed to fit her through nine months or so, with newborn size covers that go to 10lbs (and she's 9lbs now). Is it normal for babies to get all marked up from diapers like this? She doesn't seem bothered by it too much I guess, but I know if my pants were fitting that tight I would be utterly miserable!!

I got this with DD's cloth. They are a Sunbaby rip off, with the three adjustable snaps on the front. I undid the snaps, it takes the diaper higher up around her waist and the redness is gone.

My son gets red marks on his stomach from disposables from the plastic rubbing on him. Ugh.
It is okay to have faint marks from elastic. These should go away quickly if a diaper is off and should not bother the baby at all. Basically reminds me of sock lines. lol. Some redness may be there, but it shouldn't be too red and should go away quickly too. Some diapers are worse than others about this. Also depends on the kid and any skin sensitivities they might have! You want the diapers to fit well, but not be restrictive. Can you loosen the fitted and the cover any? Remember those pound estimates on diapers are just that, estimates. Not every baby is built the same.

I would say to try and loosen the fit a bit if you can but some red marks are not anything to be concerned about. My DD gets red marks very easily, much like me. Her diapers do leave some read marks around the legs, especially her Kawaii's. I think that may be in part b/c the elastic casing is a big bigger on that diaper, so there is more of a bump, if that makes sense. It has never seemed to bother her though so I try to take that into consideration. Like Jackie said, socks can leave marks on us and we don't feel that they are overly tight.

Thanks everyone :) I'm noticing now that she generally just gets red marks easily, everywhere on her body. So I am trying to stress less about it. I tried loosening the fitted and cover a bit but it didn't change much and started to gape open too much at her waist. But I think she is okay :)
