    Diaper laundry!

What's your normal washing routine? Have you had to change it up over time?

We got a new machine just before Christmas so I had to change it up then. Right now it's a quick cotton wash followed by a rinse. I wash on cold with the odd warm wash if required. If I need a strip wash I use the baby care wash with a mdeic rinse followed by normal rinses

Well, I am new to CD and really just started, but I wash about every other day with Ruby Moon detergent. My washing machine has a setting that allows a pre-soak, wash, and extra rinse. I pre-soak in hot water and then wash and rinse in cold. So far dipes come out clean with very little staining. I can't wait for warmer weather though, so I can hang them on the line!

When we were using our washer and dryer, I did a cold rinse, a hot wash with Crunchy Clean, and then an extra cold rinse at the end. One nice thing about the base housing there was that there were nice big clothes lines between each duplex so I was able to hang up the diapers to dry. I miss being able to do that!
Currently we're using borrowed machines. I can keep the lid open and do a hot water soak with Rocking Green Hard Rock. Then I do a hot wash followed by a 2nd shorter hot wash. So far no new stains. Flats only loads I just do one wash, but if there's anything else I need the soak and two washes. I just bought more flats (well, Target flour sack towels lol) hoping to make life easier for the two months we have left with this situation. I am looking forward to having my machines back and going back to Crunchy Clean. I hope I find a way to set up a line to dry my diapers too there.

I rinse, then wash with detergent, then usually wash again with Dawn.

I've been using Rockin Green Hard Rock for about a year now. I do a cold wash, hot wash with detergent, then two cold rinses. The second cold rinse is new and has really cut down on stinkies. I wish I could line dry. It leaves my diapers really stiff. I only line dry when I sun to get rid of stains, which I haven't had to do in a long time.

Jackie, how are those flats working out for you?

Great! Zero issues with the flats you sent me. I really like them a lot and they're fairly square too. Flats are sooooo easy to care for and as long as I pre fold them (mostly using the origami fold) they're just as quick to put on as other diapers (well, now that I've had lots of practice lol).

I wash every night before bed, I only have enough Diapers for a day and a half. but I am looking to add.
Any way I do a cold rinse and spin, bulky wash setting on hot wash cold rinse since our washer is He top loader, with an extra rinse. No problems yet, I did forget one time and leave or dry bar in the dryer so i did a rockn green soak to strip the diapers.
