In serious need of a night time solution

Night time CDing has recently become a bit of a nightmare. We have pretty much just always added a small prefold and a stay dry liner into her regular prefold and cover setup. Lately though, she has been waking up after peeing around 11pm and requires a diaper change. She WILL NOT settle unless she's changed. If she's changed at 11 she doesn't really pee much more until she wakes up around 7am. Still, the diaper change almost always wakes her up completely and leads to hours of struggling to get her back to sleep. Needless to say, I'm exhausted. So exhausted I've considered sposies for overnight. DH won't allow that and I'd really really like to avoid them because I'm a stubborn mule.

What is your magical night time solution? I've tried double stuffing a Sunbaby with two cotton inserts. Leaks leaks leaks. I've tried double stuffing a LolliDoo diaper (supposedly the bulletproof night time diaper). OMG epic leaks leaks leak. HATE that diaper. So, pockets have been a nighttime disaster. DD must be a heavy wetter. I don't really know because I have nothing to compare it to. She's a tummy sleeper so I think that's the source of the pocket leaking. Part of me is happy that being wet wakes her up because it might make her less likely to wet herself once she has better control. She already tells me when her diaper is wet during the day and uses the potty several times per day. I'd just stick it out until she's night trained but this no sleep thing is killing me!

I'll bring you my nighttime Kawaiis and you can try them. We never had a single leak that I can remember, and Adair sleeps at least part of the night on her tummy too. Worth a shot, anyway!

Aiden is a heavy wetter most nights. It's gotten better recently. I've found I need a larger sized pocket diaper. Kawaii has a higher rise on it naturally, so it's been working great for us. I use 2 bamboo and 1 hemp insert in the pocket and usually don't snap down the rise at all (who cares if it goes up really high, it's a night diaper and it fits all the inserts better). Microfiber does not cut it at all. At least not the last time I tried, but we don't have any microfiber inserts anymore.
The other nighttime solution that works for us, but they tend to annoy me is a large mother's ease sandys with an extra soaker wrapped tightly in a pull cover. I get annoyed because they take forever to dry compared to my other diapers and I've never been able to get them to be stink free after use. It works GREAT (never had a single leak expect when DH thinks that a small cover would work HA HA ), but I'm kinda happy to be 'forced' to come up with new solutions now. lol.

I'm not brave enough to try flats at night yet, so Aiden is in his normal pocket solution at night figuring it's going to stink anyways, so who cares if it stinks more. Lol

And I really don't like the new rolling eyes smiley. Blum 3

My solution is a terry flat, but it sounds like Teagan hates the wet feeling and these give that, but they never leak and just keep holding no matter how much they pee.

Ok, we're trying out the Kawaii with double microfiber insert (courtesy of Leigh thanks!). We'll see how this goes. We got home past her bedtime and she didn't konk out until nearly 9:30 so its a weird night already. I already like that she's more mobile in these than her normal setup. She can barely walk with a double stuffed prefold. Gosh, that smiley is awful.

Wish us luck!

That smiley IS awful, geez. Can't wait to hear how it went. My fingers are crossed for you!

No giant leaks and no diaper change! We had some minor wicking but I think that can be solved by adding a third insert. The two I put in there were beyond soaked. She also had raised red marks where the gussets touched her skin. More than usual but nothing major. Maybe it was just on a little too tight? Anyway, I'm calling it a success!

Thanks Leigh!!

Very glad I could help!! The red marks are probably from tightness--we had some of that too until I found the right setting. Hope the success holds!

There reaches a point where more mf not help b/c it gets compressed and leaks. If the pocket worked well, swith a mf for hemp and you will be set! I love the Babykicks hemparoo inserts for pockets and just add 1 mf over them to absorb quickly. I also love the flip organic inserts. They are great for nighttime for DD2 but I don't think she is a heavy, heavy wetter.

I'm glad you found something that works! We use the Kawaii overnights as well, double stuffed right now but I used to have to triple stuff them. Sometimes I will substitute a Rumparoos, but I still use the Kawaii inserts to stuff it because they are awesomely absorbent.
