My pockets are repelling. The inserts are fine but the problem is with the fleece lining. I have tried stripping in the washing machine with Dawn and hot water, but that didn't seem to help. I have read that you should strip pockets by soaking them in very hot water with a squirt of Dawn until the water cools and then brushing the fleece with a soft brush. Is this my only option for stripping my pockets? Because seriously, if I have to brush every single one, I'm going to need to take a day off of work. It will take forever!!
Any idea what caused the repelling? What creams or powders do you use? I think knowing the cause would be helpful.
Do note that some pocket liners do appear as if they're repelling but they're really not. It take a 30 seconds to a minute for the moisture to soak through. It's what keeps the moisture from sitting against the kid once the insert has soaked it up.
I have a stink problem and am currently doing an oxy-vin soak for both the pockets and inserts. I'll let you know how it goes!

My Ovulation Chart
I have made several rookie mistakes which I have since corrected, but the cloth wipes solution I was making included Burt's Bees oil and I used it for several weeks before it occurred to me (duh!) that it would create a barrier. I also realized (after it was too late) that washing new hemp inserts with my other diapers would transfer the natural oils onto my other diapers. Ugh.
