Super Undies Night Training Pants

Adair is mostly day trained and completely out of diapers now (just working on some lingering poop issues...) but I wasn't quite ready to tackle night training so we've kept her in sposies just at bedtime through the PT process...except that she appears to be night training herself. As long as I make sure she doesn't guzzle a ridiculous amount of fluid in the evening, she's making it through from as long as 7:30-5:30 dry 5 or 6 nights a week! I am not QUITE ready to risk middle of the night sheet changes yet, but I am sooooo ready to be completely done with sposies, and she's either outgrown or I've lent out/given away all of her CDs, so I just invested in one of these: Nighttime Undies Potty Training Pants, Bedwetting Solution

There don't actually seem to be all that many good options out there for nighttime cloth potty training pants (pullup style, no snaps) and after reading a TON of reviews (and finding a coupon :D) I decided investing in one seemed reasonable. I can easily just toss it straight in a small wash and have it ready for the next night if need be, I figure, since she's wetting at night so infrequently now...anyway, I'll let you all know how it goes!

Now what to do with the Costco box of sposies I still have most of....

I've been reading on my EC FB group that the families who go diaperless at night with infants use wool or fleece pads to keep accidents from wetting the sheets. I think my plan is going to be covering her bed with a fleece pad and then just putting her in regular panties.

I'll have to keep these in mind. Woah expensive! I hope it works out for you. Addy is soooo close to being fully PT'd!

Well it turns out they discontinued the existing colors and are coming out with a new line tomorrow...I got a refund. She STILL hasn't wet at night...I think it's like 2.5 weeks now!...so I'm really starting to consider the wool/fleece pad idea. Although I may check to see if they put the old ones on clearance when the new ones come out...

I have pads on Aiden's bed just so I don't have to completely change sheets if for some reason he pees out his diaper. lol.
I have one of the same pads on my side of the bed in case my water breaks and will use it after Zoe comes for those middle of the night nursing issues and diaper issues that are just bound to happen no matter what. Wink
Why not bite the bullet?

Done. Bullet bitten Blum 3 And she did great! I just put a fleece blanket down over her sheets juuuuust in case, which she didn't seem to mind, so...looks like we're totally diaper free!!!

That's awesome!! Beni has been day trained with little to no accidents for quite some time now- but she's still in sposies at night. She drinks a lot of water at night. When she first started PLing (I can't call it PTing, because it was honestly her that did it!), she was waking up with a 5lb diaper full of pee. Now it's still wet, but nothing like it was. We tried a CD once but she peed through it by like midnight and I just didn't feel like it was going to work. But honestly, her PLing was so easy, so very much on her terms, I hate to push anything with night time. I figure she's doing better, and hopefully soon, she'll be waking up dry.

And, I definitely credit CDing with how easily she PLed. She didn't like feeling wet, so she started pulling her dipes off, so I told her if she wasn't going to wear a dipe, she had to pee in the potty, and she did!! There were definitely a few days/weeks of her learning the sensations and when to run...but overall, it was so easy!

That's so awesome. I have one of those kids who couldn't care less if she feels wet (or poopy) so that's been probably our biggest challenge with PTing....but we're getting there. I will be a lot happier when she starts initiating more consistently, but overall I can't complain. We're 100% out of diaper and honestly she's doing really well.

I wouldn't push night yet either if I were you. Sounds like Beni's doing great on her own terms, and I think you'll know when it's time to work on night when her body starts naturally holding more. I couldn't BELIEVE Addy self-trained at night. It was the weirdest thing ever...but hey, not complaining! This morning she woke up at 4:47 and cried that she needed to pee (first time that's happened), so I brought her potty over to her bedside and put her on it. Still no night accidents yet, and it's been like a month now. I still just have a fleece blanket on her bed to protect the sheets juuuuust in case, but I may even move that now because she just gets it all bunched up and off to the side during the night anyway. With the extra pad UNDER the sheets to help protect the mattress, I think we're probably okay to take the full plunge now. If I have to wash sheets, well, so what?
