Default Wow. Impressed with the sun!

Wow, so I had one prefold that was pretty badly stained. I hadn't noticed it somehow until I went to put it on Z today. He's still rocking the EBM poo, so, his prefolds sometimes stain yellow. But he also has green poops now and then. So this prefold was stained yellow, orange and then some quite dark green spots as well. It almost looked like it actually hadn't washed well, and maybe was still dirty. I don't know. It was bad.

So I did a quick hand wash this morning giving those spots a little extra love, and then I laid it out on my front porch, which gets very direct sun most of the morning.

Then I forgot about it. So I went out and got it around 1 or something, and the thing is literally spot-less, in the most literal sense of the word. There is not a spot of stain on it!

I've tried sunning before, and I have never really had what I would call even noticeable results, so I was blown away by this! Guess you have to have strong enough sun? Anyway... now I know where to stick my dipes if I was to get the stains out!

It's awesome isn't it. I hand my nappies on a clothes airer in my yard, but have to do it after lunch because the whole useful part of my yard is in shade from the house until late morning/lunch. The back part of the yard is a) too over grown (working on poisoning it down and replanting grass, it's taking us nearly two year to undo the neglect of the previous inhabitants) and b) too damn far to walk with the airer full of nappies. I want to get a proper clothesline in the yard soon.

YAY for the magical sun! I have had diapers in the past that needed a bit of lemon juice combined with sun (just gave them a good rinse afterwards). Definitely helps if the diaper is soaking wet too!

last time I tried sunning diapers to dry, they got soaking wet because of the dam% base contractors deciding that my lawn needed watering without warning. So next time they're going right out front. My neighbors should love that.

Yeah, I don't have to worry about the laundry in the front of the house thing around here... it's standard for most people!

Next time I wash I think I will sun more of them just to get all my stains out. I don't really care about the stains, because hello, they are diapers, but my prefolds are in SUCH good condition still, the only thing that makes them look used is the stains. So I'll get the stains out. Yay.
