I second the recommendation for BIAS.

I really enjoyed Michael Medved's autobiography, RIGHT TURNS. It's as much about his life as his political ideas, but he traces the steps he took from a die-hard liberal to complete conservative. His reasons are rational, the book is a good read, and it can always give you some ammunition against the other side! :)

But seriously, have you guys read any of the McCullough bios of the founding fathers? I started John Adams, but I moved and the book is still in a box somewhere.

My grandfather has the whole bio series and I'll probably inherit it when he goes. He likes it :)

"Right Turns" was a good biography, I agree :) I still disagree with Medved on some points, especially lately, but it was a fascinating read and I go nowhere else for movie reviews, even today!

I just picked up Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism yesterday. Can't wait to get started. :D

My husband asked a clerk about Norma McCorvey's Won By Love. Borders does not carry it, and will not special order it. They say their suppliers won't carry that book. :confused: I have to wonder if it's politically motivated. I tried to order it online through Borders and they say it's not available.
Amazon does carry it, new and used.

Hey, Jenny, you can get Won By Love at Barnes and Noble (www.bn.com) I am really surprised that Borders doesn't carry it. :rolleyes:

I love a good book! How great that there are some more listed to add to my list. I recently read "Infidel" by Ayaan Hirsi Ali and it was amazing. I really couldn't put it down. It gives a lot of insight into extremist muslims and how she escaped it, etc. She is so incredibly brave and really amazing. I also read "My Grandfather's Son" by Clarence Thomas. Another very good read. I'm drawing a blank here on others but I'll be sure to add more. :)

McCullough is a fabulous author. I've read his 1776 and a book on the Johnstown flood. I am anxious to get the Adams biography as well. And the others he has written.

I've read so many that it's hard for me to list them. Not to mention, we're in the process of moving (this weekend actually) and all my books are packed away as well.

Though I'll admit my tend towards the historical side of things rather than current issues. I suppose it satisfies my urge for The History Channel since we don't have cable/satellite.

I just might have to print this thread out and use it for future reference.
