That's freakin' hilarious. No offense intended. But it reminds me of the scene in The Christmas Story where kid (what's his name, I can't remember it now) is being told by his mom that he can't have a Red Rider BB gun because he'll put his eye out.

I sure hope I didn't offend, but the irony is just too much.

    I hope you stick around.

Oh, we have such a huge sense of humor in regards to one-eyed jokes and Christmas Story jokes. I'm not 100% on the details of how it happened because depending on who he shares the story with, events change. They were inside, they were outside, the BB ricocheted off a rock, off a can, etc. But yeah, he was 15 and stupid and it never changed the way he felt about guns and as an adult he met a more responsible friend who had guns that taught him more on safety and so his collection started. Now we just have shared custody of all the guns as he's adopted mine and I've adopted his and they are our other 30 something children acquired over the past decade. I don't come on pg.org very often anymore other than to check out my birth board but I will make an honest attempt to come on here if nothing else to see what's happening. Thanks for being so welcoming!

I have read and agree to the guidelines.

I am Raechel, SAHM to Kenzie (9/2002, c/s for a heart condition), Katie (7/2004, UBAC), Sayra (2/2006, UBAC, unknown metabolic condition, possible mitochondrial defect), Kara (7/2007, UBAC), and Samuel (9/2009, UBAC).

Politically, we are generally (my dh and I) conservative-leaning libertarians. The primary area we disagree with the libertarian platform is abortion. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Does the "U" mean "unassisted?" Cuz, dayum, you have bigger balls than the Kenyan.

    And welcome.

Yup, U means "unassisted". Initially it was out of necessity...it was the only way to escape an unnecessary c/s, short of traveling out of state or something like that. After that, man, it got to be the only way I could conserve some sense of modesty, decency, and integrity while birthing...I fundamentally object to anyone but my husband messing around with my genitals without darn good medical reason. I just happen to believe that you don't need to know how far dilated I am while I'm in labor Baby will come out when baby's good and ready to do so!

And, as for the Kenyan...not terribly surprising

I'm a rabid VBAC supporter myself and just pushed out a 9lb10oz-er in April.

I admit I do not have the guts to go unassisted.

My Sam was 9lbs 1oz...but was only 17ish"...had a 15.5" (unmolded!) head and a 16" chest, head cocked to one side, hand up under his chin...I'll dig up his birth story if anyone wants to read it! My girls weren't nearly so eventful/difficult/PAINFUL, but hey. I debated transfering during his labor b/c of how horrible it was. My deterrent was that it was 3am, and I had 4 sleeping small children I'd have to wake to go in to the hospital! I figured it'd be less pain just to push him out than to wake the girls and drive to the hospital....
